How did I miss these photos when first they appeared? Don't know, but glad to find them now.
Igor, that first photo I like very very much... the texture and 'feel' of those rocks all carved out by wind and sea and sand, the way the white sand
has worked its way into some of the cracks and crevices of rock, the fine dusting of sand on the smooth rock surfaces. That little ledge of sand in
the center - for some reason I especially like that detail. I also find pleasing the colors in this image - the red-brown and slate rock against the
whiteness of the sand and the very dark shadows.
This shadow-light stuff which you seem to capture so well... I also like it in your second and last images That slate-blue tone of the beach in your
second image... is that created by the sea over the sand or is it the actual color of the sand or rock in that light?
In the last image, again the shadow of the rock and the shadows which angle from right toward left... I actually feeeel the tug of the sea pulling me
toward it.

Well, these pics are sort of personal in nature so I can understand why they didn't have mass appeal.
The first is sort of graphical in nature. I seem to always be attracted to such monochromatic designs in nature. They really don't mean anything. They
just feel right. I'll bet it looks good in black and white also. I'll see what happens if I try that.
The second was an attempt to catch the essence of one of my favorite aspects of some beaches. When you walk on a gently sloping beach the end of each
wave will create these tiny flows of water, no greater than about a quater of an inch in height that flows over the sand. You'll recognize them
because they're the ones that cross your toes at the water's edge. Anyway, I kept trying to capture the magic of these things but couldn't do it
because they're constantly changing. So I just went to the waters edge and created a design using that together with the shades of sand. And yes the
sediment at Laguna Manuela is that color because there is little current in the lagoon and the finest particles drop out of the water column. So you
get a mixture of different sediments.
The third image is straightforward and really doesn't fit with the others. Just a change of pace.
The fourth was a process of walking along the beach with the viewfinder in hand, looking for anything that looked appealing. No planning and no ideas.
Just reacting to what nature has to offer. I actually like it the most because of it's simplicity. There were a lot of subjects to choose from but the
surf kept everything in motion making it frustrating.

Glad you enjoyed them. My two passions in life have been fishing and photography. There is a board for each one on this website and I must admit this
board is far more enjoyable. People make a point of complimenting each other's work and encourage one another to show more of their pictures. I have
never seen a post here that denigrates anyone's work and as you look through these pages you won't either.
May I suggest that you look at the threads where everyone has contributed. There is one on baja sunsets and another one about the wonder of the
deserts. Full partipation by all members is not all that common but always very enjoyable because it's so positive.
You'll also find that the forum breaks down into several categories. There are the photojournalists who like to show current events or their personal
trips. There are the history buffs that dwell on baja's past. And there are the pictorialists who enjoy visually the land and the sea. Members seem to
be attracted to one or another type of images.

Yes this thread went by rather fast Diane. I've got a feeling you will be seeing a lot of sand patterns at asuncion. I'm looking forward to seeing
them on this website.
