Used A/C's

Have two 220V, 2 ton A/C's for sale. Replaced them with larger units, since the space was to large for them to be efficient. Excellent condition both. $ 100.00 each or offer?

Mini splits? I'll be interested.

No Pam,
They're wall units. Don't think you'll find any mini splits for that price:P:P

Vandenberg,

Can you tell us what you replaced them with? Are you happy and what space are you cooling? Also, what are you powering them with?

I'm researching the topic so real world experience is appreciated.

Thanks

TDK,
Just installed a 4 ton 3 diffuser multi split in the livingroom. That room is 40ft by 20ft with a 11ft ceiling. We had that 2 ton wall unit plus another 6000btu window unit and they just couldn't do the job. The new unit has 3 compressors, one 2 ton with a diffuser, and 2 one ton compressors with a diffuser each. So I can run anywhere from 1 to 4 ton of air.
In the bedroom, 20ft by15ft with a 12 ft ceiling, the 2 ton wall unit was replaced with a 3 ton unit consisting of 2 11/2 ton compressors with one diffuser each,so we can run 11/2 or 3 ton of air. Since we had them installed this winter, I can't tell you how well they work, since we had no chance to use them yet, thank God. But I should be able to give you a report later in the year I'm sure.:P:P:tumble::tumble:

Noticed that COSTCO in Ensenada had mini-splits. Didn't much pay attention to pricing or sizes, but they are in stock

I assume you are "on the grid"?

Would be tough to run these on solar.:P:P

vandenberg - 3-17-2007 at 09:38 PM

Besides these new units we also have 3 more 220V 2 ton wall units, a 220 cistern pump, a 220 dryer and a 220 kiln. Hate to see that electric bill come, needless to say.:(:(
