Bob H's great hummingbird photos got me inspired. This is a little more explicit. I took it yesterday:

This is called "'Amplexus". It's where the male frog wraps his front legs around the female and squeezes forcing the eggs out at the same time he releases his sperm. Some frogs have enlarged thumbs when they do this, kind of like a hard on but only in the thumbs. At least that is whay my college biology teacher taught us. After we learned that we printed up t-shirts with "Club Amplexus" for our pocket logo. Wish I still had one of those shirts.

Jeez the responses to that photo were hilarious , much better than the photo. Thumb hardons....who woulda thunk? Let's hear it for amplexus!! Here's another one before they broke out the smokes:

Perspective is everything. That may be the female on top -- reminds me of Cindy, a girl in Amarillo I spent a whole summer with one week.

Just got back from Coe State Park and what a difference from a week ago. The grass is a fresh green and the lupines and poppies are covering the hillsides.

P.S. My kids walked up to within 20 feet of a male wild turkey with displaying his feathers.

Spring is in the air!

Great pic of your kid in the lupin. A real keeper. Out falling in love with the world at that age.
