Rancho Buena Vista used to offer whitewing dove hunting with guns and shells available. But that was a long time ago and things may have changed. I know you didn't ask this, but the best dove hunting I have seen anywhere was across the Sea of Cortez at Lake Hidalgo Lodge near El Fuerte. They hunted peanut fields and the flights were unbelievable, the sky was black with birds. But that too was a long time ago :)

A suitable name....Redrum is the reverse spelling of "Murder" and became a signature expression after the movie The Shining came out....the kid on the tricycle made the comment in the movie...and Jack Nicholson gave his crazed performance....:o

Gee...motoged, seems I learn something new everyday! Thanks!!

From what I have just witnessed in Mulege's Jungle cantina, it appears that dove are popular around Mulege and make great pets. As for hunting, I dunno, but anyone with a dove on their head might possibly point you in the right direction...OR be in need of a Betty Ford clinic.

Baja just keeps getting stranger and stranger....

Thanks Sally and Halboo!! Pompano, spent alot of time in Mulege in the 90's. There were alot of strange people out and about. Your photo confirms not much has changed. Remember Donna Mo's pizza?

cabobaja...Donna Moe's Pizza? Of course..

Pompano - 3-28-2007 at 03:01 PM

EVERYONE had a good time at Donna and Sam's place. I remember the night at the Hacienda atrium bar when they first got the idea to open a pizza parlor and were wondering what to call it...duh? It only took a case or two of Pacificos before the light bulb finally went off.

It became a very popular eatery and watering hole with a steady morning clientele of expats and tourists.

Later, Sam had the place by himself and we still had our morning coffees and breakfast there while watching the square come to life. Especially Zulema doing her grand tour around the plaze...all heads would swivel to watch her in awe and wonder how those tight shorts held their stitches! I poked myself in the chin with my fork many a time back then...
