Punta Cardon Area Questions

Bajaboy - 3-28-2007 at 02:46 PM

Hey Amigos-

The wife and I are headed down to Baja on Sunday for the week. The plan is to explore the Punta Cardon area north of Bahia de Los Angeles and then head south to visit Pancho at Playa San Rafael.

Can anyone give me some insight/info about Punta Cardon area? We're fairly well equipped, have 4wd Tacoma, and usually prefer remote areas.

Thanks in advance!

Zac

There was a campo being developed out there named 'Colorado' (after the other name for Smith Island)... Past the road to Humfreville's Las Cuevitas cove where they built a shack for the summer with their kids 20 years ago...

The left fork after leaving the La Gringa dump area takes you to the El Toro copper mine http://vivabaja.com/402

Please report back... You guys have fun and say 'Hi' to Pancho for me!

Oh, by the way Zac... this area is all HIGH resolution in Google satellite images... Just take a fly over from home and look around!

Thanks DK, 4Baja,

I had originally wanted to stay at Animas and then head to San Rafeal to visit Pancho. But, I'll need more ice and beer midweek. So, I explored Google Earth and thus decided to head north of BoLA first.

I'll take plenty of pictures and report back after Easter.
