Minnow tanks for the name Irontuna. I liked it so I put it on my graphics.I'm off to contingency in a couple hours. Lou look for me and give me a
thumbs up as I pass by RM 190. TW is already down in SF and he will pit me at RM 260.This will be a long and challenging 400 miles so don't expect
any time records. Hope to see some of you down at the race...

anyone hear if Paul finished the race. I can't even imagine what it would be like to race 500 miles off road solo. Just finishing would be a major victory.

There were 6 bikes in Pauls group that we were pitting. Paul and 4 others were riding solo, 2X,4X,6X,7X and 10X. 59X was a team bike. All the solo
riders finished. I understand the 59X bike broke before 50 miles, Paul can fill us in on them.
They all came into my pit within minutes of each other. We gassed em and gave them water and Gatoraid and snack bars and trail mix. With their energy
restored they were off and running again. I think it is great that 5 solo riders all finish a long race like this.

It was a great, fun and tough race for us and I'm stoked that we all were able to complete the race. I'll give a full report in the next day or 2.
Thanks for all the support from everyone who helped us or offered to help us. Especialy when Baja Pits announced they were not going to do the race. A
super big thanks to TW & Shirley for the pit help and DP racing for helping me with my Michelin tire and bib Mousse.Corky was willing to come from
AZ to help us. Look for the full race report soon to come. There are some great stories...

A funny side note on my pit. Paul told me there were signs for me to use so all the riders would know it was their pit and to get it from Roy at RM160
Sat morning. So we stop by Roy's pit and he gives me a sign. We get to our pit and setup and I take the sign which has 59X on the back and a very
professional company name on the front. I face it for the company name to show thinking that's what everyone will look for. When the guys arrive it
was easy to see their bike numbers but it did appear that everyone was not totally sure if I was their pit. However I was waving them in so no
problem. When Paul arrives he tells me the 59X should be showing so I turned it around. Well in my defense neither Paul nor Roy told me 59 X was the
sign everyone was looking for. Somehow I got the impression it was a special sign not a simple sign. Next time I'll ask.
tunaeater - 4-2-2007 at 12:44 PM
Well I'm glad you had the other sign you made with our numbers on it. I saw it not sure about the others. The 59X bike got stuck in the mud going
through the salada RM 50. I guess he was trying to take a straight line through instead of following the course around. It wasn't a good choice. They
didn't get the bike out until 6:00PM
