Captions
jrbaja - 2-5-2004 at 10:12 PM
Wul golly dang darn it. I titled everyone of those pictures and I see the names don't come up. The last one is titled "Weapons of Mass Destruction. Or
at least a good reason for attack in george bush's P-nche ojos. And that's not funny!
I guess you will just have to go to http://groups.msn.com/TheBajasBestGuidesPhotoAlbum
Don't have these up yet but all the other trips, stories and photos are. These will have to wait till I get back in about 3 or so weeks.
Not a lot of family photos unless they are those darn beaners, and very little about my heroics unless you count misadventures and my stupidity
heroics, but a lot about Baja. J.R.'s idea of Baja anyway! Enjoy.

Great Pics here and at the web site. Have you found the use of any pigmentation in the caves, and particularly painted hands?
Thanks AA
jrbaja - 2-6-2004 at 07:48 PM
Yes I have and not only that, I have found out about some incredible other caves that have the hands, as well as some others and muchas cosas as well.
These caves require a substantial amount of backpacking and we have a trip planned in the near future.
Had a set back in an arroyo near El Triunfo but van should be repaired this weekend and then I am back at it.
The more we see, the more local knowledge gets shared. Pretty incredible stuff too. I had a hatchet made in the mountains and tried to take my
finger off with it on the first use. hahahahaha.
They know how to make some quality tools up there. Sharp too!
Petroglyphs
academicanarchist - 2-7-2004 at 10:42 AM
Petroglyphs are fascinating. I had an opportunity a while back to photograph some petroglyphs in the Big Bend area of Texas, on the walls of a rock
overhang that showed considerable carbon deposit. There were hands, other geometic figures, and stick figures. They may have been executed 4,000 years
ago, or more.

JR your photography just gets better and better! Keep up the good work. I hope your van gets fixed soon. It would be great if you could make it to
the Matomi Canyon run this coming weekend.
