My best friend and I have decided we need to drop out for a while. I teach/work at a CSU and my girl teaches middle school. We want to spend january
in Baja. This will be our first road trip into baja but we are hoping to get all the way down to the cape, camping and adventuring along the way.
There are some basics that we need to find out and we'd love to get it from real live people instead just out of books. Could y'all help us? We'd like
to bring our two sweet dogs, is this cool? We'd like to find some funky places to camp or can we just camp on the beach? How much is gas? Can we sell
jewelry on the beach to make some quick cash? etc etc. Any particular routes to take, wonderful sites thet should not be missed? People we should seek
out? Any and all info for us two baja beginners would be FANTASTIC!!! Thanks so much and we hope to meet some of you down there!

Dogs are welcome. I believe you will need a vet. certificate that they have had their shots.
DO NOT work or sell things down there. It's against the law for non-citizens to do either.
Gas is about $2.30 or so per. gal.
Take a BANK card for cash (some places bank machines are far and few)and emergencies.
MOST valuable is go to (http://www.davidksbaja.com/davidsmessage.html then Amigos general board and read lots
and to "Freds" board and read, then (top left of Freds board select his home page. Much info. contained within.
At boarder you will need PASS PORT or proof of US citizenship (photo id, voter registration card [check Freds pages])
and get your MG-T papers (temp visitor visa) cost about $22 per head (people heads).
It's always good to remember YOUR NOT IN THE USA while down there. Laws different. If you are driving you HAVE
to have Mex. auto insurance. If you are going to be there for very long check on insur. rates for a year or I hear
50 days are available. Dayly rates add up FAST.
Last camping-- don't camp isolated from others. Bad things can happen EVEN in paridise.
PS - I hope you have a great time! Its'("the Baja") the best place ever to de-stress.
