Anyone have any views of this place, good, bad or indifferent? Know if they still allow RV parking in front of the hotel?

Sorry my info is dated, but I stayed there a couple of years back. Just a quick overnight but I thought it was OK. Reasonably priced and appointed. Did not pay attention to the parking last I drove by there.

We stayed there in April 2006 with our dog. $55/night. The room was clean, mattresses firm, sheets clean, plenty of blankets we were more then satisfied. We woke early and headed south. We were pleased and will return, Joanna

We did not notice any RVs around the other day...but have seen caravans camped there before.

We stayed one night there in March. The managers were extremely friendly. The rooms were okay, reasonably clean, smallish. At the time, they were allowing RVs to park on the beach, blocking the view of the sea from the hotel. The manager told me they were going to stop doing that, so I don't know if they still allow it or not. We enjoyed staying there especially the extreme friendliness of the staff and the FREE TEQUILA. They have a wooden cask of tequila brought from Guadalajara and offer it free to the guests. They also have free kayaks you can borrow. I think we paid $65 a night or something like that. Next time, I would get a room on the opposite side of the hotel from the generator, as the running of the generator all night somewhat bothered me. They were also super friendly to our kids even though they were obnoxiously loud :) They will also feed you there though the food was not very good, I would try the restaurant next door. The corner rooms on the end were bigger and had a hammock, I would try to get one of those rooms next time.

Thanks. Free tequila plus free kayaks? Hope those kayaks come with life vests.

Here is 15 second video clip of our kids kayaking in the bay there though it sort of looks like kayak bumper cars. They did have life vests actually to borrow also which the kids needed after their tequila breakfast. :)

There are actually TWO different developments there at Buenaventura.

One is the hotel in the main driveway. It is owned by a lawyer from TJ. Last time we checked, the manager was a Juan Ankeron at 615-155-5616.

The other is the restaurant & 2 rental beach houses down the driveway to the right. It is owned by Mark & Olivia at 615-161-1077. They (not the hotel) own the federal beach concession in front of the hotel. Their burgers are to die for.

Both places are embroiled in ungoing legal problems & are not friends at all. RVs parking on the beach pay Mark, not the hotel.
