I have been known as a great master baiter here in the US at lakes, but what about at the beach, what is the best bait to use?

Cortez the SOC is a very big lake, with 100,s of miles of beachs and fish,I would suggest you check the hunting and fishing section for a start

as a master baiter you would know that the best bait is the one you are using (hopefully).

Is that a white sea bass?? off the beach at Pta San Carlos?? Very good!!

Have caught quite a few 'but's off the rocks there, never a WSB..

One time down in the bay at PSC, my buddy and I were fishing grubs off the rocks with no luck...right about the time my buddy said "to bad we don't have any bait" a freaky little double up wave hit the rock and soaked us..
All around our feet in the little tide pools created by the wave were just bigger than pinhead anchovies...we quickly changed to bait rigs and got a nice Halibut each just before dark......Regalos de Dios.......Gracias a Dios!

Tomas if you are looking for wsb and better butt fishing stick to the sand just south of the last small point, inside of the weed line at low tide was always great for butts, the wsb will move in on a incoming and high tide inside and south of the weed line,we never did to good off the rocks,a few mornings we saw butts chasing bait in a ft of water!!!!
A bud of mine got two wsb pushing 20# on squid on the beach,I,m sure there are some huge wsb down that way for the beach guys,no place for small tin boats anyway.
Not too many gringos know that area.

one calm morning years ago I was watching the boys pull net about 40 feet off the beach at the surf spot. they had 15 wsb about 40#s average in the net. I could not believe what I was seeing!!

Love that area!!!
