San Ignacio benches

Paula - 4-22-2007 at 04:03 PM

Can it be that I've figured out how to post a picture all by myself????

I was just experimenting, and I'm glad that I used a Baja-related photo that I like, because it seems to have worked!

Paula - 4-22-2007 at 04:19 PM

Well, Grover, it was really very simple...

and I think I'll leave the mentoring to people who actually know what they are doing!

Fred - 4-22-2007 at 04:40 PM

Is this where one places a cooler and then watch people go by?

DavidT - 4-22-2007 at 07:16 PM

Well don't just sit there, post some more.:D

Fred - 4-22-2007 at 07:37 PM

Its hard to post a beer

Paula - 4-22-2007 at 07:49 PM

...and it's hard to post photos after you've had a beer:yes:

Fred, I should have had a cooler, as I had locked myself out of our hotel room during siesta. They take siesta seriously in San Ignacio, so I spent it pondering these benches, and other things.

David T, thank you for the encouragement, more to come manaņa!

Love your bench photo, Paula. It sort of captures the mood of San Ignacio.

Me too

bajajudy - 4-24-2007 at 12:27 PM

I took this years ago before I knew to make the image as big as your camera allowed. It is certainly not as nice as yours but just wanted you to know that it captured me too, Paula

Thank you,Igor!

Judy, that is funny we took the same picture. And I think yours is very nice too. Now wouldn't it be fun if we turned up at the plaza at the same time and went to sit on the benches for a chat?

Fred - 4-24-2007 at 03:04 PM

With a cooler?????????????????????????????????

bajajudy - 4-24-2007 at 04:10 PM

Fred
I like you idea!

Paula should we have beer or wine in that cooler.:dudette:

That blue bench has seen some heavy use.:o:):D

woody with a view - 4-24-2007 at 04:20 PM

tis been a coupla years since i've been in the "zocalo". is that one BIG tree or are there multiple trees that cover the entire "square"? last time there my son and i sat under the tree and had a cool paleta.....

Paula - 4-24-2007 at 05:35 PM

Judy, I'm partial to wine, but beer is good too! I think a few olives would be nice...

Woody, there are 4 trees I think, but could be more-- they are HUGE Indian laurels

Here's a photo from Aug. '06

Paulina, it's looking like I need to learn to sing karaoke!:bounce:

Fred - 4-25-2007 at 10:35 AM

No, that is the dance floor after a few wines/beers.

Paula - 4-25-2007 at 10:54 AM

Yes, Fred, but the stage has my name on it. They'll repaint if I ever show up and sing though;)

Fred - 4-25-2007 at 12:05 PM

I think the stage is for "THE DANCING GIRLS"

You could start with this, Paula

Skipjack Joe - 4-25-2007 at 12:34 PM

Baja gals
won't you come out tonight,
won't you come out tonight,
won't you come out tonight.

bajajudy - 4-25-2007 at 12:53 PM

These are the true Baja Gals walking up the road in San Ignacio no doubt looking for that cooler.

Ok, I've been not asking this question for too long...
Paula - Wine, beer and olives? Where, pray tell, did you learn this?

The photos are cool, Paula and Judy... ya done good.

Paula - 4-25-2007 at 02:25 PM

Nena, don't you like to have olives with your coctails??? I was just munching a few raw almonds and thinking how much better they'd be toasted with olive oil and garlic, we could bring some of these. Maybe a quick drive up to rancho San Francisco:lol::lol: for some really good goat cheese, and we'd have ourselves a party-- hope you'll come too!

Paula - 4-25-2007 at 04:43 PM

Will you tell us, Judy, which Baja girls apper in your picture:)?

bajajudy - 4-26-2007 at 03:21 PM

Well I dont personally know these ladies but the same day as the bench photo I happened to look up and see these ladies coming out of the grocery store that used to be on the corner of the square and I was intrigued by the one lady's dye job. If I remember correctly in the sunlight it looked like a halo.
As for the olives I thought that Paula had remembered that they are one of my favorite local baja foods.
As for the cheese, do you really want to go this far for it.

I didn't know that you loved olives, Judy, but I take a big bag when we go to Montana-- I have everyone convinced up there that they are so rare and costly that a bowl of olives rates as a whole pot-luck dish:dudette:

You are right-- it's too far to drive for cheese-- but when you consider the view from up there...:bounce::bounce::bounce:... OK, no cheese.

Fred - 4-26-2007 at 03:44 PM

Stuff the olives and cut the cheese and we'll be there

Natalie Ann - 4-26-2007 at 04:02 PM

Stuff the olives with jalepeno and I'll bring the cheese.:dudette:

Fred - 4-26-2007 at 04:39 PM

What else would one want to stuff them with.....jalapenos is the ONLY thing

Paula - 4-26-2007 at 05:49 PM

Oh dear... I'd rather drive to the mountains for cheese than pit and stuff olives! Can't we just eat them as they are and have a seed spitting contest?

Fred - 4-26-2007 at 06:47 PM

ok, but BBQ jalapenos on the side
