— Baja is like a huge bubble that absorbs all of our energy and enthusiasm. One days it bursts, and then what do we have—Wonderful memories!

Sounds like another set of Baja memories may be in order ??
There is time to make more until the day you die.
Baja-on Bernie !! :D

It's early and I'm mellow and remembering a Nomad tale.....

I've known a Nomad who very nearly died recently and who has health issues that may take him from us at any time. Although these health issues might be more easily managed near a US hospital, this human chooses to make the huge additional effort to personally manage their care in order to travel Baja and elsewhere. This brave Nomad, supported only by a loving spouse with a spirit as strong as the HULK, will continue to fill their balloon until it bursts.

Nomads !!!! Some are something else !!!! Baja-on !!!!

everything changes-- our neighborhoods, our jobs, the places we went as kids, the school teachers we loved and hated, the flowers that once grew in the garden get overtaken by weeks unless we tend them.

A few years ago I gave everyone at my work a copy of the little book- "Who Moved my Cheese" - it's a simple story of the inevitability of change and unless we adapt we will see our life stopped short because we don't look somewhere else for the cheese (the story is about mice) that previously sustained us.

I've been going to Baja for 30 years and change is everywhere and for that matter it's so changed in my old neighborhood in Memphis that I don't know my way around any more. Change is going to happen-how we deal with it determines our life satisfaction.

Wonderful thoughts..................My favorite song goes........

'UP, UP, and AWAY IN MY BEAUTIFUL BALLOON'.................'

capitolkap, Sure things do and will change but then I will still have my 'wonderful memories' and there will still be, I hope, Baja folks who will enjoy them.

Bernie-- thanks-- sure can remember so far unless its my keys or their location or why I went upstairs in the first place--but I do remember my first trip to the Old Mill and when my now 24 year old son caught his first gamefish at 10, or when Cabo had about 1 mile of paved road and no traffic signals, to drive to the EASt Cape required an appointment with the dentist afterward to replace the fillings jolted out and La Paz was a day's drive from San Jose del---!!! Ah such memories.
