Hi Grover, there is (now) three to four gas 'stations' along Highway One between El Rosario and Villa Jesus Maria.
They are not run by Pemex, but by private enterprise. Unlike the Pemex pumps, when you buy 5 gallons from one of these private suppliers... you GET 5
gallons! The price has been about $3/gallon for about two years, whereas Pemex has been raising their prices regularly.
You have to decide if paying 50 to 70 cents a gallon more is worth it to have gas in this central Baja region. I wouldn't haul gasoline cans 120 miles
or more (round trip) for a 50? a gallon profit, would you?
The independent locations are at Catavina, Rancho San Martin, and two at the L.A. Bay junction. Also in L.A. Bay are two and at Gonzaga Bay, one
(Rancho Grande). Alfonso is the independent at Catavina. He told me when the new pump across the street at the hotel is working, he will return to
fishing... he was even smiling about it!
On the Amigos General board, Wild Bill put up a poll you will be interested in seeing (about Pemex and honesty in liters sold).

I think it will happen when Mexico allows someone other than Pemex to control an entire nations gasoline supply.
