I have a couple of questions regarding Camp Gecko/BOLA.
1. Is there good drinking water available?
2. Dollars or Pesos? Credit Cards?
3. Are campfires permitted?
Thanks for the information.

1. Is there good drinking water available? There is drinking water at a small grocery store about 4 miles dirt road from Gecko. You can buy new or
refill 1 and 5 gallon containers there.
2. Dollars or Pesos? Credit Cards? Dollars and Pesos are fine.
3. Are campfires permitted? Yes. I would bring some firewood from home if it is not inconvenient.

You can make your deposit for a reservation using PayPal with your credit card however you will need cash when you get there. People kept telling me
they sell firewood there, however on both of my previous camping trips there, I was never able to find any firewood. So I concur if you have room,
bring it from home. I enjoyed my visits there, fyi.

We found that sometimes there's firewood next to the office till it runs out, like the water in camp does at times. It's too bad with all the new
permanent trailers there that the camping has started to suffer for it. I don't doubt that soon the perms will have to start supplying their own water
in order for the campers to get what they pay for.
Take your own firewood if you have the space.

the trailers use very little water in fact we conserve more then the average camper. alot of the toilets and showers in the cabanas leak a little bit
of water all day long and doc does a good job trying to maintain them. we on the other hand maintain our plumbing every time we go down, we are allso
haveing our water trucked in soon so we all wont be useing docs water . remember we are paying a yearly lease wich is more then the average person who
camps there does.
Yearly lease/ daily rate

If the trailer crowd had their water delivered it would take a great deal of pressure off of the camp's water demand. I can see how that would benefit
Doc's situation. Not sure how much the yearly lease is, but if a family were to stay at one of the upgraded cabins for three weeks in the summer for
example, they would be paying over 500. just for that stay. Assuming that the yearly lease is around that amount, it would seem that the campers are
actually paying more to stay there than those who have permanent spots, specially if that family were to visit Camp Gecko more than one time a year,
as I guess the permanent crowd would do.
