My neighbor has a cherry little VW Sand Machine (can't remember what they called them) plastic body etc. Located in Cabo

garnold363@yahoo.com

Might give him a e-mail.

Sounds like a "Manx" body.

How much can you budget to spend? Here is a sand rail with a water cooled Nissan engine for $3,200 obo. It is advertised on craigslist.

yeah packy, a long the lines of that.

i ain't gonna run the 1000, likely never go in the sand dunes neither.
i just want a little ride, open air like a bi plane, that i can rat patrol around the beaches and streets of mulege with my gals....

I think I'd be happy to get away from the VW motor, so the Nissan would suit me fine if I were to get such a thing. I had a friend many years ago who built a VW powered rail much like the one above. He installed a windshield, fenders, lights, and stuff, and he registered it with the DMV. Looks like fun.
