Egads, does that mean that Greenpeace can be expected to put up tents and march on Mulege now.

How deep has the 'blue lagoon' been dug so far? Our old Marine Trader Trawler draws about 4 ft...will it fit? Maybe we could take a few cruises out on La Mar with the old vessel...it would be great to have it parked right there!

It looks like the new marina 'diggins' will separate the rental area from the casita area there at Naranjos. Maybe it will present a natural barrier - to keep some of the Naranijan's off your country club property...

Will your lighthouse be up and running by the time the marina is completed? You will be able to guide wayward sailors back to port if the weather turns bad...! I forgot, lighthouses, by their nature are erected to warn of nautical areas of danger to sailors...would that 'danger' be Armando's Marina, in this case....?

How are you and Susan doing? I'll bet the weather is finally warming up a bit...bout time! We miss the beach, as always...so we're going over to the 'Coast' up here in Nor Calif, next week for a few days to watch the fog roll in each evening, and wiggle our toes in the sand...got to replenish that 'Baja Feeling'!

Did the famous excavator from the import story do that already? How long do it take?

Bob and Susan - 5-22-2007 at 07:46 PM

he marina is all permited...i saw the permits:light:

the depth will be 9 to 12 feet deep depending on the tides
it will have a concrete ramp on the end away from the beach

my boat will be first in:lol:

the boys poured the 3rd floor of the lighthouse today...
a bucket at a time

the stairs inside are really cool to walk up...

it's only about 85 here today...
may is really nice
I don't know why the snowbirds leave so early:cool:

i walked by your place the other day all "snug as a bug" and waiting for you to arrive

B&S...... Where is the new Naranjos Marina? This is the first I've heard of it.

Bob and Susan - 5-23-2007 at 09:33 AM

the marina is NOT finished yet but it may be a good time to get you reservation...

it WILL not be completed for 3 months

i have my reservation already:tumble:

naranjos is 8 miles south of the pemex on hwy 1 in mulege
the camp is 2 miles down a very good dirt road

armando and delia run a tight ship and have very good security

more later...

So, is this different than the villas de mulege gig that is north of you guys, Bob and Susan?

Bob and Susan - 5-23-2007 at 11:40 AM

yup...that guy has been over and told armando the mistakes he made
you learn from others mistakes
you don't have to reinvent the wheel..
just make it rounder

over there they were trying to have houses with a marina in front
way too much maintenance
lots are for sale over there too

this will be a rustic marina...
not something like ensenada
but a place to keep your boat in the water while you're on vacation
and a ramp for those who like to "haul it out"

it will be good for mulege because better boats can "come-on down" and have a place to launch

it takes us about 8 minutes to reach the mouth of the bay at 30MPH
...then out

it took 38 minutes at 25MPH to get back from Punta Chivato in chop

Sharksbaja - 5-23-2007 at 11:49 AM

That is some good news. Man you guys made big progress! Say, when will the lighthouse light up? :o

So most sailboats will be able to dock in there?

Bob and Susan - 5-23-2007 at 08:26 PM

the area is a BIG "sand bar" (no pun intended)

only the sailboats without a "scag" ***notice i'm NOT a sailor***
or have the "scag" that comes up can "come ashore"

it's only 12-13 feet for 400 yards out...
