Viva Baja everybody!!

You guys are so lucky you live in Southern CA due to its proximity to the border. I would love to be able to take weekend jaunts there if I could.

Is memorial day weekend this weekend or next?? There is a cool fishing tournament in Turtle Bay Sat. JUne 2 for the "Feria del Mar" which is like a sea festival with lots of fun events and great food, dances etc. Should be a blast. Enjoy your holiday amigos.

Paulina - 5-23-2007 at 10:38 AM

I'm stuck stateside, but Dern and his buddy Ezra are down at Rancho Leonaro at the Roy Clark Tournament as I type. They'll be hitting the road heading north on Memorial weekend, with a short side trip to Todos Santos to see some friends there.

Remember just north of Puertecitos about 10 miles to must make a right turn and follow the arroyo west till it meets the ocean. Just being helpful.

The right turn is through a open gate where a old white van is parked. And be sure to give us a trip report.

Tom -or any Nomads- We'll be home so if you come back this way, stop by.

David K - 5-24-2007 at 10:44 PM

You guys directing BajaCat up Matomi Wash??:?::wow:

He knows the way to Gonzaga, and he will have a great time with his friends and family... He called me this afternoon for some last minute tips. He secretly wishes he was going into 'Mission Impossible' with us!

Gonzaga Bay is just a few miles east of the mission... just a mountain and deep canyon seperates the two!

Anyway... I hope all Nomads have a great weekend! Baja Angel and I will be leaving tomorrow (Friday) afternoon... early afternoon, I hope...

I told Baja Angel that on Saturday, for the tough 14.5 mile road in, she can drive it! Why not, she owned CJ-5 Jeeps for years and is a veteren of the famous Rubicon... much tougher than the Santa Maria road and it's infamous 'Widowmaker' grade! ?

Mexitron - 5-25-2007 at 05:35 AM

Good luck DK and y'all for the holiday!

Me, I'm gonna try to resurrect my corn patch that got flattened by yesterday's microburst:

Not Matomi David, El Canelo wash -the lost route to the Pacific :biggrin:

BajaGuera - 5-25-2007 at 09:17 AM

Won't be heading to Baja this weekend but I do have special plans. I am going out to Rosecrans to honor my grandfather who fought in World War I and served in the Merchant Marines in World II. Then back to El Camino Memorial Park to honor my mother-in-law who fought on the homefront as a "Rosie the Riveter"

David K - 5-25-2007 at 09:28 AM

Good idea Vee, what it's all about! ... I hope it is a very special weekend for you!

bajadock - 5-25-2007 at 10:21 AM

2.5 mile hikes west on Punta Banda to watch my concrete dry. Just poured my main floor "dance hall" this morning. Not very dramatic, but, will provide years of parties and wave watching.

David K - 5-25-2007 at 10:26 AM

Looks great! Possible Baja Nomad party location, perhaps???

Well, I am logging off now... three days in some of the best part of Baja for me and my amigos...

See you all Monday PM or Tuesday if we are late getting in...

Viva Baja everyone!!!

David K, it will be my honor and pleasure. October is grand opening. Per my previous posts home building posts(and my website link below), kitchen and decks are the focus of the "PUB".

Taco de Baja - 5-25-2007 at 04:33 PM

Good luck David.

I await the report on how well the newest edition of the Tacoma does on the Widow Maker, and the rest of the Santa Maria "road".

BajaRob - 5-27-2007 at 08:37 AM

We're just hangin at the Bahia. Playa Hermosa party last night with Arturo's band and Fireman's Ball today. Next week we load up and head for colder temps. Another great season in Baja!!!!!!!!!

BajaWarrior - 5-29-2007 at 06:14 PM

Hey Rob, didn't get to meet up with you after the party on Sunday, we were very busy with a big group. New house was a hit and we had two families stay in it.

Yep, party was great, again. Good sounds, good food and friends. Did you get a chance to talk with Gary? Ha Ha!

Hang on to that key then until next season or beyond, we're not coming back down until the weekend of June 22nd, and that'll be our last until Labor Day and it sounds like your heading out soon yourself.
