Hi Folks, heading down to the East Cape, or around Todos Santos for about 17 days of camping and surfing in early July. Will be with two daughters,
age 15, and one other adult. If we receive any serious cuts, scrapes, bruises, bites, or others, I would like to know beforehand good advice or
suggestions on where to go in this area. Good doctors or hospitals and directions would be great. We could also head up to La Paz if necessary. Had a
great trip last year, about 16 days at Nine Palms. Thanks for any help, Ron

There are two excellent clinics that I have used for emergency in San Jose. Sorry but the names escape me.
One is on the "down road" that leaves the four lane at the Pemex station. Proceed past the gas station as you leave the roundabout at the four lane as
if you were going to the big church downtown. After you make a 90 degree left turn go about a half block and the clinic is on your left. They did a
great job sewing up my noggin after I tried to use it to catch a loose surfboard.
The other one is on the four lane in one of the little strip malls right in front of El Zalate or Coral Baja. That would be on your left before the
bridge as you approach Zippers from San Jose. They do good work too.
Have fun and hopefully you will not need them.

I ditto the post on the military hospital in La Paz. Just be prepared to provide linens, pillow, food, medicine etc.
The small centro de salude in TS is also ok for minor issues or get patched up and clean or wash/sterilize a wound for the ride to la paz.
On the trip down if you run into an emergency, some of the military checkpoints have a very qualified medic always on duty or at another nearby check
point. I once brought an accident victim to the Catavinia check point. He had a horrible very large open gash on his forearm. There was a Mexican
Soldier doctor at the checkpoint that spoke perfect English, trained at fort Bragg in the USA and did a great job at cleaning out all the bits and
pieces of glass/pebbles/dirt, sterilizing the wound, packing it with sterile gauze, holding it together with tape, wrapping it up and even gave the
guy a 24 hour supply of antibiotics. He waited there for the next express bus to TJ and made his way to a SD hospital. Got a nice letter from him
saying the docs told him that medic may have saved his arm.

In Los Barriles, AmeriMed is a great place. We have used it and got good service at reasonable prices. It is located on the road between Palmas De
Cortez and the highway.

The Military Hospital in La Paz, is that the Naval Hospital???
Stopped there, my BP sky rocketing and was sent away??
wound up in Fidepaz and got incredible treatment there...

If you need a chiropractor, I've opened my clinic in Todos Santos a few months ago. Corner of Calle Pedrajo and Calle Verduzco,
phone 612-158-1895. Going north from Cabo San Lucas: after the tope (speed bump) at the beginning of town, go one block and turn left on Pedrajo. Go
one block and I'm on the corner on the right side.
