Tijuana, Mexico -- A Tijuana neighborhood popular with tourists is one of the most dangerous in the city.
A new police report shows the downtown area called the "Zona Centro" had the highest number of crimes-per resident of any neighborhood in Tijuana.
The figures for October show there were 1.75 crimes reported for each 1,000 residents. The next highest rate was recorded in the Playas de Tijuana
neighborhood, which had a crime index of 0.89 for every on 1,000 residents.
The index accounts for crimes ranging from robbery to homicide. The Zona Centro neighborhood includes the downtown area where tourists commonly flock
to discos and bars on weekend nights.

Maybe I'm missing something here - is there a source for this article or police report or whatever it is? It's probably there and I'm just not seeing
it.
Crimes per resident in a comercial/tourist zone seems to be kind of a weird way to express the crime figures.
Thanks.

Picky, picky, picky...
It's an AP report posted on NBC 7/39 San Deigo's website (KNSD):

Thanks. I also like to see those links up there when a story comes out. Some sources you do wanna take with a little more of a grain of salt than
others....-Stephanie

I believe the numbers are high - I was just curious where they came from - I was mugged in the area a few years back.
It's not anonymous's fault - It's just incredible to me that a supposed news source would bother to put something like out without mentioning the
source - all part of the dumbing-down I suppose.
