Suggestions for Family Trip - Thanks Nomads

Nomads,

I am trying to plan a quick weekend trip (3-4 days) in July for my Family. My boys are 10 and 12 and both love the ocean and surfing. We don't have alot of time and I want to take them somewhere nice so their first experience in Baja is a good one.

If someone could suggest a good hotel/condo on the beach with surfing within a few hours of the border it would be greatly appreciated.

Someone mentioned Papagayos Seaside Bungalows in a past post. Does anyone have any experience with this location?

Thanks,
surfdog

Spent my rookie honeymoon there (Quintas Papagayo), and it was great, but that was almost 50 years ago.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone have any photos of the place? I can't seem to find anything on-line. Also, where exactly is it located? Is there surfing close by?

Las Gaviotas at K 41-1/2, gated, houses for rent and good surf out front.

Club Marena, kilometer 38.5 from the border. Kilometer 38 is an outstanding surf point; surfers can simply walk out the door at Club Marena and take the steps down to the beach. Lots of Club Marena condos are listed for rent by owners on www.VRBO.com and www.homeaway.com and www.A1vacations.com. The villas are particularly good for surfers because they have front patios on the grass and places to put your boards.

and afterwards get a shower under the stream running down the cliff from the leaky septic tanks or maybe it all just runs straight to the ocean!:moon::barf:

Interesting. We live at Club Marena and I've never seen such a stream. However, you can bet I'm going out to check. Perhaps there is something like that at kilometer 38 itself; I don't know. But I haven't seen such a thing on our beach.
