Any opinions or personal experience with Mex drivers insurance only in Baja, as I live in AZ and frequent both Baja & Sonora.
Taking a truck & bike has required 2 different policies and since the bike can only have liability coverage anyway I dont see the pointin
carrying 2 policies when 1 drivers only policy will provide liability coverage on either 1, at least enough to keep you out of the localjail in case
of an accident.
Google search turned up several Mex sites that offer 6 month's driver only policies in the $150.00 per 6 month's range.
Any thought's or horror stories?

Have use drivers license insurance for many years. The rate I've been paying is $58 a year plus $25 for legal if you want that. Total $83 a year.
Used to get it thru one of the clubs, but changed and have used ADA-Vis for a long time now. No claims so don't know how that would work but I'm
happy.
This is liability only.

It is the least costly way to go. Like Lou, never had a claim --thank God, but hope I never have to either

do you have to have a mexican issued drivers license to get this??
my neighbor in mulege does that, insures his DL but he says it only works when you have a mex DL, and that takes an FM3 which i didn;t get yet.

No, Our insurance is issued on a U.S. license and covers any U.S. registered vehicle we might be driving. Whether ours covers a Mex-Licensed vehicle,
I haven't a clue. It's never occurred to me to check. Although we both have FM-3s, we've never seen a reason to get a Mex License, even though it is
fairly easy in San Felipe.
Addendum to Capt Mike:
I'm told that ALL of the Mex Insurance policies issued require the vehicle to be currently registered, but I haven't seen it in writing.

From what I see online it covers a USA drivers license in a USA registered vehicle, but from what I'm reading it does not cover Motorcycles, it seem's
they would have to be a seperate policy.

This policy seems to be the same general terms as 3-4 others I just checked, no Motorcycles & no Motorhomes.

If anyone has a Drivers License only policy it might be wise to check the fine print, you may not be covered.
After checking with 6 different sites I've found non of them cover Motorcycles or Motorhomes.
They all say any vehicles driven on the quote page, but after digging a little deeper into the fine print they all say the same thing:
Valid for autos, trucks, vans and SUV's only.
Motorcycles and Motorhomes are not eligible.
