New deadly Hwy 1 stretch.

Ever hear of DARWIN ???
How many poeple travel that road every day with no problems ? 99.9% ?
4 in how many years ??
That's not good but unfortunately, it's not out of the ordinary.

That road is more dangerous than a stroll in Ensenada !!!!

Some times I miss JR more than others. This is one of those times.
Seems to be a day for "chicken coop'ers" !

Ed, do you know who was killed?

That isn't exactly a straight stretch, it's just that the curves are vertical. A lot of blind dips in that road, and you can't really see what's coming, even though it looks clear.

Maybe some new signs with this icon would help:

actually van should have written the fourth cross in two weeks. the incidence of fatal collisions on that stretch should be included in one of the many increasing Loreto Road Hazards

Like I said ,it's since the inception of Loreto Bay that the traffic on this stretch has multiplied hundredfold. Lot of their people live in town and don't forget their laborcamp on the San Javier Road.The point I'm trying to make is, for folks that travel this stretch on their way through, should be made aware of the danger. Most were used to getting through here at their usual 60 to 70 mph.and many are still doing that. The road has several hidden vados and we watch people continuous passing on those stretches. I know it's frustrating to have to drive behind 30mph traffic ,but being impatient will bring your and other people's lives in play, which has happened here in the last couple of years. And it's getting only worse. As for Diver's remarks, totally irrelevant. Darwin Just hope you never have to bury a friend because of a traffic accident. And no chicken cooper here, whatever that means. JR was never to clear on that. Generalized on that pretty much. Miss him though.

JR was abundantly clear on what that meant. Wilderone is pretty much right on except. Bock, bock, bock..... should be peck, peck, peck, at each other, then when one really gets on another one they all jump on him too. JR was very amused by this, and the fact at how serious many here took his comments. He pretty much was laughing constantly while he typed. RIP JR

This road has claimed more lives yesterday. I am not clear on the story but an accident claimed multiple lives including two children one of them who was literally ripped apart (2 years old). The highway was covered in blood. The cause I am unsure of at this time but it involved one of the construction company trucks that is building Loreto Bay. I understand the family who suffered fatalities may be from out of town but the driver responsible is a Loretano (Juncalitoan) and is in jail. He is the husband of the lady that cleans my hme and watches my kids during the high season, also family of ours. I';m sure this will make it to the papers tomorrow it was serious enough.

The velocity of the constructionistas and those involved in building new projects is outrageous. They are irresponsible drivers who have no regard for others on the road. I believe the responsible party should be made to pay bigtime as maybe it will cause them to not put so much pressure on their workers to drive so fast and perhaps they will lay down the law and train employees who drive to be responsible drivers. Like I mentioned before I cross this stretch of highway several times a day and the trucks that zoom by have logos of Loret Bay and the construction companies that are building Loret Bay.

When Loreto Paraiso starts construction will there be another deasly stretch of road from Loreto to KM 25 too?

Also that highway sign is still standing barely. I got pictures but my computer is not working so I'll post when I can. The one screw that's holding the sign in place is about to slip out of the broken concrete, and we're getting winds from the SW that just may help it fall soon. CAn't believe it hasn't fallen yet.

the first thing you'll notice if entering from the north is a highway sign that may become a guillotine to an unfortunate passer by.

the second thing you'll notice is the complete chaos that the town center has become due to "improvements" in the sewer and waterline infrastructure. this is so friggin' unbelieveable I plan on filming these roads and making a video.
