Here's a taste...
A patrol boat. They first came to check us out, then later up the coast we found them fishing for dinner.
vgabndo - 6-13-2007 at 12:23 AM
Most of these "spires" as I recall were on the south end of the bay.

There is beach camping, nice snorkling, and we've caught a few cabrilla and fire cracker yellowtails. There are several very fancy houses there.
Enjoy!
Can you say BEAUTIFUL
CasaManzana - 6-13-2007 at 05:34 AM
While cruising in our sailboat back in the '80's we spent days and days parked exactly where you see the boat here. Now we camp there 2-3X/year. I
can't remember ever seeing another person camped there other than us, except two kayakers camped out once. Snorkeling is as good as it gets there.
To get in there, it's a good idea to have a 4X4 but not always necessary
Our little favorite spot is by the only tree you see to the left. Can you say PEACEFUL

vgabndo and CasaManzana. Thanks for the info and the pictures.coolhand - 6-13-2007 at 12:40 PM
Thank you everyone. Were going to give it a shot, however not until October. We will take pictures....coolhand - 6-14-2007 at 12:05 AM
I deleted my messages. How do I delete the thread? I understand now what you meant. I'm sorry it took me so long. This is my 1st forum.David K - 6-14-2007 at 07:19 AM
The newer program Doug uses no longer permits the creator of a thread to delete it... You can ask everyone who posted a reply to delete, but why? The
photos are wonderful...vgabndo - 6-14-2007 at 11:22 AM
OK with me David, I just took the ID's off of mine. Let the followers find it the same way we did. When the Spaniards have it all in tees and
greens, it'll be easy to find. David K - 6-14-2007 at 11:33 AM
Casa Manzana's photos are fantastic... I hope they get posted elsewhere if coolhand convinces everyone to delete.Minnow - 6-14-2007 at 01:27 PM
David, I asked CH to delete this thread. Let the developers discover this place on their own. Casa Manzana does look to be living the baja dream
though. SI!Slowmad - 6-14-2007 at 01:38 PM
I love that there are destinations left to discover for one's self without GPS fixes and internet stories.
A fished out sand pit a stone's throw from San Flip—that's one thing.
This tranquil beauty's another.coolhand - 6-14-2007 at 08:44 PM
FYI.....don't know how to get rid of this thread. I want to preserve this location in Baja, but I don't know how to delete a thread.Roberto - 6-14-2007 at 08:55 PM

Then you'd better hope DK doesn't find his way there! coolhand - 6-14-2007 at 08:58 PM
Help, I want this thread deleted. San Basilio is hell. I was wrong. Nothing but banditos, mosquitos, and all else evil in the world....
There was one bad thing there a few years ago...
CasaManzana - 6-14-2007 at 09:48 PM
We woke up to find the beach covered with dying squid, big squid, maybe over a thousand in a 100 yards...all over a foot long. They started to decay
and we could not get in the murkey smelly water so we left two days early. A mating thing says google. Anyway, here's a pix of the road in. Takes
about an hour at 10 mph...dream on if you think the road is all this good.
It's a very pretty drive in so be sure to stop and smell the ...what ever they are-
Now for little secret so keep it under ur hat...make a left turn just before you come to the San Juanico beach and in 5 minutes you come to Ramada
Cove. Also a little creampuff place with volcanic caves that will hide you from the sun

Developers have already discovered San Basilio - I have seen the master plan . . . ay carumba! Fortunately the owner of the whole bay is decidedly
eco-friendly.
I remember San Basilio (apart from its total beauty) because that's where I tramped on a stingray, staggered to the shore and in my last moments of
sanity, extracted the sting (about a yard long - or maybe I was hallucinating) with my Leatherman and drove in agony to Loreto.coolhand - 6-16-2007 at 04:43 PM
CasaManzana,
Thank you for the advice and all the beautiful photos. Can't wait for Fall, and discover for myself.
After looking at your photos, even my wife is excited. We spent a week in Las Animas a year ago and loved it. However the wife did constantly
complain about the restroom situation, or lack of (she has bad knees).
Also, all the "what ifs" scared her. "What if we get bit by a rattler, or stung by a scorpion, or robbed, or the car breaks down." All legit fears,
because we usually fly solo. I have to explain that with the rattler thing, we have an extractor, we are only 1 or 3 hours from help, it will be
painful but we will live.
Now, if we get bit by a rattler, stung by a scorpion, robbed and maimed by banditos and the car goes to chit all in the same day, we may have a
problem.
Anyway, despite the last scenerio, upon seeing your photos, the wife promised to never complain again if I take her to San Basilio...elgatoloco - 6-16-2007 at 05:58 PM
I wonder if the plastic catch bag is reusable? coolhand - 6-17-2007 at 07:07 PM
elgatoloco,
Yes, on this trip we are getting one of those (poties). We have always used the bag (and really everyone who camps should), but without the
proper support and bad knees, ouch....kellychapman - 6-18-2007 at 11:54 PM
am I missing something as I still cannot figure out exactly where this beautiful place is????....beautiful pictures and a Nude beach....lol...gotta go there!!!
