MULEGE/CHIVATO FISH REPORT

tripledigitken - 6-13-2007 at 08:29 AM

Looked on Mexfish this week and they had no report for Mulege.

Can any of you down in Mulege/Chivato tear yourselves away from fishing, or c-cktails at the Jungla to give us a report?

I hope that beautiful new dock is getting a workout!

Muchas Gracias

Ken

What is the best way to catch sharks. Is it strictly a bait game with a lot of luck, or are there some reliable methods?

Knowledgeable fishermen let them go and fish for animals with less stress. Mexicans long-line them and pile their remains on deserted stretches of beach.. If you care you should target other species?

we would make a "chum ball"
mackeral in the blender...uuummmm:biggrin:

freeze it
put it in a bucket then
upside down in a plastic crate with bungees...

you then float
as it thaws the slick floats away and the sharks approch...

just sit and wait...they come EVERY TIME:biggrin:

sharkmeat is very good but you MUST gut it immediately....
they pee thru the skin

it the meat tastes or smells like formaldehyde you were too slow...

Sounds as if the fishing is a little sketchy. I will have kids down there that would be happy with trigger fish, cabrilla, you name it. How about the sierra....are there any around? Roosterfish? Have any of you fished off the beach (i.e. garbage beach)? I would love to catch some jacks or roosters....heck if the dodo's aren't cooperating, I'd be happy to put the kids on anything.
