First, can you safely drive the foothills of the Laguna mountains on Highway one while listening to audio books? I think you can - went to Los Cabos
for new tires for my car, listened to 2 hours of a James Lee Burke novel; got the story, kept my eye on the traffic.
1. Big, big banners all over in Los Cabos NO TO NOM 029!
2. This week's edition of a local newspaper, "7 Days in Los Cabos" reports our Governor will preside over a new commission to study the shark law and
its effects. Thirty governors will make up the commission, CONAGO, report to El Presidente, Calderon, in two months.
That's either good news or good politics.

sure they are. If someone is making money, they want theirs too. The commission is probably nothing more than a way to examine what is going on to
fine out where they can insert their, tax, fee, fine..........

The Baja Sur governor has done a lot of good for Mulege following the flood. He met with us (gringo river dwellers) and the local business community.
He looked and listened. He made promises, and he is keeping them. The river is getting cleaned out and he says it will be dredged. He has asphaulted
all the town streets. He will build a new clinic with diagnostic equipment. He doesn't seem like a typical politician of any government.
