If you had to choose...

If you had to choose between Todos Santos, La Paz, or Mulege as a location where your young family would spend every winter which would it be and why?

I have been to Todos Santos and love it (the lush tropical feel, the artists and old buildings) and as far as cities go, I also really like La Paz (safe swimming beaches nearby, affordable, great sunsets) but I have never been to Mulege... Will definitely visit before I settle but want to see what your vote would be and why.

Happy posting,
Nicole.

La Paz, more life, more culture. More things to see and do.

Close to everything, and close to nothing.

Haven't spent enough time in any of 'em to really know.:tumble: Would advise anyone to spend at least 6 months in an area before making a long- term relocation. Leaning towards Mulege.:bounce:

it would depend on your life stile and what you are looking for. if you need the things like Movie theaters and McDonalds and the like then La Paz is the place for you. if you are looking for adventure and a small Mexican town feel then Mulege would be a good choice. If you are an old Hippie from Berkly or Bolder then Todo Santos is the spot for you.

Can't say much about La Paz or Mulege but do know that there are young families in
Todos that have settled and call it home. I believe their main challenge is schooling for their kids. Having said that, they have managed to keep a Montesori program going and are hoping that more young families will move into the area. I am always envious at the
incredible experiences thesse children have! I also have to say that if I were to move
into the area with young children I would definetly integrate some of their schooling with the local school. We know of several young people who have been schooled in that manner in Todos and they are very well rounded.

This Berkeley girl prefers La Paz... and definitely that's where I'd head with my family. All the reasons above... and it's magic.

With kids I'd have to say La Paz. I raised two very active kids and if you had spent as much time as we did with "family nights" at the local Emergency Room for stitches and even casts having Emergency Care readily available is a big plus.

These three cities were on our short list also. We chose Mulege for the same reasons Bruce stated.

But..................We also will enjoy all that La Paz and Todos have to offer as they are only a day drive away.

Shopping trips for three days, maybe a trip to the dentist and a dinner at Jesse's.

Just don't wait too long (if your planning on a property purchase) as your idea is not a unique one!

I too vote for La Paz for living with kids for better schools, more options, medical care, culture and you can always go to Todos Santos on weekends or whatever...

You could try spending the winters with your family in all three places to get a good idea, just rent a place first, then decide, you might all have a different favorite though.

I too, fell in love with Todos Santos, same reasons as you and more. So much so that I bought a home, unfortunately, can't go as much as I want, but that will change in the near future, and I'm not even from "Berkley or an old hippie"!!
