it makes you wonder how they came up with 207 million?

maybe they got tired of counting and just divided the rest?amir - 6-23-2007 at 06:19 PM
That was just one gang busted and the loot is just a drop in the bucket.
I can't imagine that you will notice anything anywhere.
When one gang is shut down, another one is waiting in the wings...

Minnow, I read the story again after your post. The article talks about a pharmaceutical company in Hong Kong, China.
How does this make it the Chinese Government?
I think it is an interesting premise, though.
Hoping to hear your story, or getting a link to one,

Wow! Those photos gave me my first realistic concept of what a couple hundred million dollars looks like. Not sure if it really makes a dent in TJ or
any other druglord's operations, but it would definitely be impressive in my closets. I would be content with a shoebox full......dollars, not drugs.

I've noticed the construction of a big beach house here in playas stopped around the same time. But there's plenty more being built.QuePasaBaja - 7-9-2007 at 03:41 PM
The Pharma companies in China are either owned by, or regulated by the government to a point that they do nothing without government approval.DENNIS - 7-9-2007 at 04:51 PM

I wonder where else that happens?bacquito - 7-9-2007 at 06:02 PM
It seems to me that more inspections of all types of produce, medicine needs to be done either at the point of origin or before the materials go to
market in the US. That is true not only for China but other countries as well.
The accused Chinese fellow accused of drug dealings in the above article led a pretty lavish life style, a gift of a Rolls Royce from a Las Vegas
hotel-the only thing a hotel gives me when I travel is a piece of candy on my pillow (maybe!!). He was probably laundering drug money in his various
enterprises.
