Does anyone have a good repair person for a car A/C that's wonky. It works well when the weather is cold to warm, but quits whenever it gets really
hot.

Meno just fixed mine and it works great. Located behind Colegio Calafia. Phone 13-50195

There is a guy right around the corner from Rosalita's llavadora de ropas. Is that Meno? This guy is really good....does cars and home air
conditioners. Turn on the street by the little Pemex and go around the bend in the road. His is the third house on the right. De Nada

Meno is the best in town. He also works on diesels and I think he has the only diagnostic computer in town.

turn north at the light by the Pescadore...then east just past one or two shops. dirt driveway. I don't know the guy's name but he can check out it
out. he ran diagnostic test on my little Geo, then checked all the vents, seemed pretty thorough, found nothing seriously wrong, showed me where to
look to check freon level...then added freon, recharged or whatever. nice and cold again. 250 pesos.

Thanks guys. I don't know Loreto at all. I just fly in and out of there. Any way I could get directions from the airport?

I doubt if they can direct you from the airport, but let me know when your coming in via u2u and I will lead you there.
R-12?

Can you still get R-12 (old-style) freon in Mexico? I've heard yes, but never seen it for sale.

Ask for it at about any auto parts store. They all have it.

Just to share my experience....
I ended up finding a AC repair place in Insurgentes. The guy, John, was great. It's half-way through town. Look for a pharmacy on a north-east corner
and he's 2 doors down on the north side of the street in a combination shop that does AC and also does tires and general repair work.
He added freon and charged 200 pesos. It was working great until we got to Loreto when it died again. I tried Meno, who was great and spoke English
but directed me to a place that is again 2 doors north of the main street at the traffic light with the big grocery store.
That guy swapped out the pressure sensor switch from his truck with mine and got it working again but charged 400 pesos. He spoke a little English and
was very efficient.
Thanks for the lead on Meno, who got me to the right guy.
