...to all the Canadian Baja lovers on Nomad. I am grateful to have "my other home" in a country that has allowed me the freedom to raise a healthy
family in a healthy environment. Hope you all are having a great day eh??DENNIS - 7-1-2007 at 03:18 PM
Happy Canada Day all you Canadians.
I'm sure glad you're up there instead of Iran or Iraq.Barry A. - 7-1-2007 at 04:32 PM
I will be in Bella Coola, BC in 3 weeks to personally say howdy to all you Canadians.
Can't wait!!!! DENNIS - 7-1-2007 at 04:43 PM
Barry ........
Are you sure that's not Bella Culo? There's an area in every country designated to this attribute. Just like Butte , Montana. That's an Indian
spelling, not mine.David K - 7-1-2007 at 05:06 PM
Good Day, eh?!!
Happy Canada Day you Hosers!
Canada Has a Day ?

Well, I guess they're Bright enough to handle one day out of 365. Maybe.DENNIS - 7-1-2007 at 05:25 PM
You're all heart, MrBill.Barry A. - 7-1-2007 at 05:25 PM
Dennis----you may be right, but on all the maps that I have, and according to BC Ferries, it is spelled "Bella Coola". It certainly was an Indian
town to begin with, and largely still is.
WE are really looking forward to this adventure, crossing the Coast Range to Williams Lake from Bella Coola, about a 290 mile wild trip by both dirt
and small paved roads thru Tweedsmuir National Park, and the vast cattle lands of central BC.DENNIS - 7-1-2007 at 05:28 PM
Bien Viaje, Barry...
Take lots of fotos and show us the best.

Happy Canada day from the Gypsy's. It has stopped raining here for a day, and the sun is out and it is 28 degrees C!!!DianaT - 7-1-2007 at 09:08 PM
Happy Canada Day to all, and Barry, Bella Coola is a great place to visit.
On the way there,
A great little store on the way at Tatla Lake
A really good restaurant and GREAT bakery at Nimpo Lake
Yes it is also the local garage
The famous 18% Freedom Road
The welcome sign at the campground at the bottom of the hill.
Bella Coola --- a meeting of two cultures
We really hope you enjoy it as much as we did. It is really beautiful wide open spaces---just like Baja, but with different weather, flora and fauna.
Canada is a beautiful country, and the Canadians are always friendly, even when we were in a pay car wash and had to go to a local store to ask what
was a looney and a tooney. amir - 7-1-2007 at 09:12 PM
VIVA CANADA !!! Barry A. - 7-1-2007 at 09:41 PM
Great pictures Ms. Trotter-----many thanks. Now, more than ever, looking forward to this adventure and being joined by my two kids as well to explore
the "Baja-like north country"
thanks to all for the encouragement.woody with a view - 7-2-2007 at 06:12 AM

Canada certainly has some astoundingly Beautiful country, albeit too cold in most cases. Great to look at though.
I am reminded of something a close friend once said about a different natural paradise. In that case the place was the Philippines, but it's
appropriate.
"It could be a great place to live. The only thing that screws it up are the people".oldlady - 7-2-2007 at 09:10 AM
Mr. Bill
Having spent a great deal of time in Canada (business, vacations, eastern, western and middle) I find your comment about the people highly inaccurate,
possibly rude and of little value.oldhippie - 7-2-2007 at 09:15 AM
oldlady, that's MrBill fer ya.

Why does the word "frostbacks" come to mind? We need another wall!!
Just kidding.
I lived in Ontario Canada during the Vietnam war. It's true. I wasn't evading the draft though. I'll never forget my neighbor's flag of 9 beavers
peeing on a frog. They were obviously subjects of the Queen.oldhippie - 7-2-2007 at 09:25 AM
Replace the astericks with "peeing". Boy what a puritanical website, I can't even say peeing!

Me Rude ? Gosh, I've never been called that before. Well, maybe not since yesterday, anyway.
Don't get me wrong. I appreciate my Canadian Neighbors, including ND. They serve as a constant reminder of how wise our choice in 1776 was.
