MEXICAN HISTORICAL WEBSITES

What's your source for Mex history?

At a recent scrumptious dinner cooked by BajaBound and Bajamigo, discussion came up on www sources for Mexico and Baja history.

Here's what I've been using:
http://www.mexconnect.com/mex_/history/historyindex.html
http://www.mexicomaxico.org/ ...THANKS, OSO!

Baja Nomad is also full of historic info, PHOTOS! and writing.

WHAT'S YOURS?

bajajudy - 7-7-2007 at 03:12 PM

Thanks
I bookmarked them both

bajamigo - 7-7-2007 at 03:48 PM

Wow! Talk about some great sites. The Library of Congress site is awesome.

Thanks Hose
I just need to retire again so I have the time to read everything.

Don't do it! I've found that, in being jubilado in Baja, I've never been busier.

Yes B.A., if you have your health and intellect(ok, I have HALF of that equation), there is so much to do. I read now more than ever.

My reading is also more sensory rich, like most experiences in Baja. After dulling my senses in my 80 hour/week gig in document management, I am open to so much more in this environment.

It's already been written by others, but, I think I'll start my next book, encouraging early retirement. Like the old Schlitz commercial said, "...you only go around once!". GUSTO

Don't

Encourage people to retire early.......I will just make Baja more crowded!!!!

David K - 7-8-2007 at 09:54 AM

I have lots of links to old maps, El Camino Real locator, old photos, and my Baja Missions web page... all in my web site (VivaBaja.com) and also some items are only found in my Baja Notebbok page... also linked at the bottom of my posts on Nomad!

bajadock - 7-8-2007 at 10:02 AM

Thanks David K. There are many personal websites that can be fun reads. You remind me to slow down and check out a few that are listed in Nomad's signatures.

BG, my bad, thanks for correcting me. I'll focus on retirement in AZ, NV and FL. Those "seasoned citizen" communities have better line dancing classes than Baja.

And the dancing doesn't start here until 10-ish. And the women, as depicted in my avatar, require a certain "energy" that can be hazardous.

Yes, thanks Old Hippie. Gotta love all of the nostaglic items and photos available on Nomad. Second on Bajaguy's offer, as I always have plenty of cerveza and vinto tinto ready for the next party.

Enjoying a Noche Bueno, a highly recommended beer, courtesy of Bajaguy and his hot young blonde babe, right now!

DENNIS - 7-14-2007 at 08:04 PM

Hey Doc..............

Is your new avatar Bajablond ? I met her once and I thought she was more gorgeous. As you said, you need a new camera.

bajadock - 7-14-2007 at 08:31 PM

THANKS DANAEB! New site for me. They've got the US/Mex war part under construction for now. Heavy quote for your signature or is that simply my intellect suffering from cerveza #2? Wordsworth's "Daffodils" was first poem memorized, 4th grade. Enjoying the "sparkling waves in glee" of Baja.

Dennis, new beer girl is nothing close to Baja Blonde! BB is the real deal, as you already know!!!
