We are coming down in September with one of our dogs who needs to be fixed. To get a dog spade in Saskatoon, it costs around $285.00. We had heard
that it is around $60 in Baja. I know of a vet that gave the A OK to our little Mexican pup that we found in San Roque, that I am thinkin of using,
but was wondering if anyone had a vet that they use all the time. We will be spending some time with Shari and Juan, and then are going down to
Mulege. Any suggestions?

There is a vet in Mulege. His office is across the street and 1/2 block down from the lavamatica. Maybe someone has experience with him ??

$285 in Canada ? WOW. In the U.S. I paid under $90 last Summer including the followup(s).
The $60 Bucks for Baja sounds about right, though. I have neighbors South of San Felipe who paid around that in town. No problems. They (and we)
use Magdalena Bernal on Mar de Caribe Sur, but vets are numerous and I haven't heard any negatives in our area.

I have a very good vet in Ensenada and the last dog we had fixed was $45.00. If you have the time drop off the pooch in the morning see the town and
pick it up in the afternoon.
Dr. Rico's office is on the back road through town. You cross the river and he's on the north side of the road in a small strip mall before the stop
sign.
I'm sorry , I don't have the address or phone number.
When you walk into any vet in mexico smell and listen. The first vet I went to smelled like meat packing house and the animals were crying, not
barking, but crying. I turner around and started asking others for a good Vet.

Santa Rosalia is where we went and got our Mexican dog looked at, and was the one we were going to go with.

$285.00 for a 5 minute operation on a pet. Jeez! That's works out to over
$3,000/hr. Have castrated, hogs, cattle and goats. It ain't rocket science. I'd let that dog enjoy the finer things in life.

In Mulege, a vet, Lorraine Sellers, comes down from California and spends about five months every winter. Unfortunately, her clinic was ruined in the
flood and she lost the clinic and all its supplies.
Last winter she wasn't able to set up because of the flood. I hear she will be back this year. She has many people who volunteer and runs a good
operation. She spays and neuters street dogs & cats, and also treats sick and injured animals. She will work on gringos' pets on a donation basis.
She probably won't be set up until December or January, so this wouldn't work for you unless you are planning on being there during the winter months.
Your post didn't say how long you would be in Mulege.
There is a vet in Mulege, but most people go to a very good one in Santa Rosalia. If you want his name and number, let me know and I'll dig it out.

We have been taking our pets there for 10 years. We know people in San Quintin that also have been bringing their pets up from there for years. He is
a good Dr. You can't go wrong,k

If you get as far as Loreto, there is Animalandia. They spay for donations to the non-profit clinic. If you are coming down, get in touch with them,
maybe they can use some stuff from the States.
