Atmospheric Water Generator for Loreto Bay??

ncampion - 7-11-2007 at 06:35 PM

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WaterPure International,
Inc. (OTCBB:WPUR) announced today that it has placed an Atmospheric
Water Generator evaluation unit in The Villages of Loreto Bay. A
seaside resort development in Baja California Sur, Mexico, The
Villages of Loreto Bay is the largest sustainable development under
construction in North America.

Paul Lipschutz, WaterPure Chairman states, "The Villages of Loreto
Bay is an environmentally sensitive project. Like us, they support
sustainable development which is described as `meeting the needs of
the present generation without sacrificing the ability of future
generations to meet their own needs.' Sharing the same commitment to
environmental responsibility, The Villages of Loreto Bay chose our
Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) because it produces water from the
ambient air around it without depleting the traditional water
supplies. This is our first international placement but watch for
more once the environmental impact of our AWG is realized. We expect
to rapidly roll out to other environmentally sensitive locations
worldwide."

About Water Generators

The WaterPure Atmospheric Water Generator extracts moisture from the
atmosphere through a condensation process and transforms it into
absolutely pure, healthy drinking water. Multiple air and water
filtration systems remove particulate matter smaller than .01
microns. Utilizing high intensity UV (ultra violet), it eliminates
any microorganisms including bacteria and viruses. Test results of
WaterPure water measured 99.9% purity, far exceeding EPA
requirements. Operating on standard 110v power in the USA, it is
extremely efficient and uses a minimal amount of energy to produce
water. Depending on local electricity costs, a gallon of WaterPure
water costs about 8 cents to produce. The unit requires no plumbing,
water lines, or pipes and is easily installed. Driven by a
microcomputer control system, it will stop generating water when
full. The WaterPure purification system employs special filters to
remove any unpleasant tastes or odor that may be present in the air.
The result is fresh and delicious drinking water in its purest form.

Nomads,
Their website indicates that their products are for drinking water...and the productivity is dependent on temps and humidity....it would be interesting to see the numbers crunched and evaluate the Baja cost profiles...

It appears as if the water system basically collects the drippings of condensation off a cooling rad (condenser)....kinda like the water my air conditioner spits out as waste....but probably tastes a bit better

400 watts of electricity to make the machine work, more to cool it and/or heat it....

More fuel oil burned to generate the electricity??? or are they going solar???

Development seems to be the inevitable cycle of all viruses...:barf:

My dehumidifier puts out about 3 gallons a day, anybody want the water rights??

Dear Mr. Old Hippie,

It has been brought to our attention that your public casting of aspersions as to our AWG clients' intentions and reputations has brought you dangerously close to legal actions. Please cease and desist such actions or we will be forced to dampen your efforts with a defamation suit ....

Wee, Cheetum & Runn; Barristers and Solicitors

Please note: Dampening will be done by the XTC model produced by AWG; the defamation suit comes single or double-breasted.......

that was hilarious old hippie! you should make some edits on the wiki site.

I have those photos just getting my computer troubles straightened out before I can send them.

capn.sharky - 7-16-2007 at 04:26 PM

I just hope it works year round. At least Loreto Dismay is finally trying to keep their word on something. If it does work, I would like to think Fonatur would as each new development of over ten units to install a water plant---but, that would be the responsible thing to do so I have little hope. I kinda liked the idea of planting a rain forest in Nopolo.

If these so-called water generators actually worked, Saudi Arabia would be the aquaculture center of the world.:D

Relative humidity probably never reach 20 there.

ncampion - 7-17-2007 at 09:28 PM

Saudi Arabia has all the water they need. They make 70% of their fresh water with desal units. BTW the Red Sea is beautiful!!

Saudi Agua

MrBillM - 7-18-2007 at 10:40 AM

Solid Gold Bathroom fixtures are also not uncommon in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia uses the least-efficient and most energy-intensive form of Desalinization, MSF (Multi-Stage Flash Distillation) separating the salts via a steam-creation process. These huge plants are co-located with energy producing plants due to their high energy requirements.

Everything I've read also indicates that their Brine Disposal method is via evaporation pits located as far away inland as 5KM to avoid damaging or degrading the quality of the Red Sea.

Given the above, citing Saudi Arabia as an example in the current discussion of water-producing alternatives is irrelevent.
