El Rosario on satrurday??

Tomas Tierra - 7-18-2007 at 01:58 PM

Can anyone give me an idea what it will be like trying to get through El Rosario on saturday??Like, how was traffic last year onsaturday during the festival?

My wife, myself and our youngest are heading just south of there and are considering trying to make it one day from Ventura County. E.R. will be at the end of our drive. Usually we would stay there and hit the dirt the next AM, but I'm assuming town is booked??Cactus and Mama's??

Thanx for any thoughts on this..

I don't think traffic will be an issue...just those hundreds of speed bumps:lol:....95% of people attending will be locals from town and not tourists......

Might be rooms at Motel Sinai. Not as nice as Baja Cactus, maybe slightly better than Mama's.

Traffic is a non-issue for this, like Jim says.

I agree about the traffic being a non-issue. But, the Motel Sinai, past the left turn going South is not that bad. Also, they have an outstanding restaurant there! My wife and I dropped our cabover camper in the RV lot behind that hotel during the first fesitval - nice cement slabs with electrical hookups. I don't remember if they had sewer hookups (Hook, did they)?

Please call Baja Cactus for a room before assuming they are full. Their number is on the web page bajacactus.com

Traffic is non problem as they say... More than usual, but you will get through... But why not stay and enjoy a local event?

Baja Cactus older rooms are still better than Sinahi or Mama's. Also there is Baja's Best Bed & Breakfast at the far end of town... Very nice rooms and GOOD food!

I cant remember, Bob. We end up using the facilities at most places, except in the middle of the night, so we usually dump on the way home. Can usually go over a week on our rather small holding tank.

We think we will head south from El Rosario Sunday... 7 Sisters, El Tomatal Mystery, San Ignacio, Mulege, Punta Abreojos, Bahia Asuncion are all ideas... BUT NOTHING IS CAST IN STONE:biggrin: Elizabeth and I are on vacation for a week... we want to have that 'Baja Feeling' and not feel rushed or be driving too much.
