Produce around GN

805gregg - 7-25-2007 at 02:54 PM

My wife and I will be driving down to Guerrero Negro on the first day, and would like to go out to Asuncion and Abreojos, the next day. Is there a good place to buy produce in GN or on the way west? Thanks gregg

Side note:

Is the agricultural stop before G.Negro or just after?

Curious because of the fruit/produce/meat inspection...

there are many. look on the right side of the main drag for a decent size building with a dirt parking lot. it's before the pemex at the curve in town. everything you could want.....

there is also a bank just on the right just past the pemex and the curve=24/7 ATM.....

There is a farmers garden area with a couple excellent fresh fruit and veggy stands..middle of town right side going into town, the street goes right and there are a few there and a bunch of segundas too. The same farmers sell to the big market there too which is easier. Also in Vizcaino there is a market just past the pemex on the left side of the highway.

Apprreciate the directions... there was a time when these were all over California .... Good Days, CaboRon :bounce: Does anyone know of a farmer's market in La Paz ?

Can you take the produce you buy in GN past the Inspection Station?

It's before town if your heading south, according to Woody's answer

(see 2nd and 3rd post above)

Tron
Headed north, I dont think that they check...am I correct guys?

Also, if you wind up in the huge supermarket which would be like the one stop shopping option, they have a wonderful jack cheese. If you like cheese try it.
There is also an ISSTE store for juices, canned foods, sodas, cereals.

Judy is right, they don't check on the way north.
And try some local queso fresca if you haven't already.
