Bahia Asuncion Hotel Restaurant

For those of you headed down to Bahia Asuncion, don't pass up eating at the restaurant at the local Verduzco Hotel. Before we bought our place here, we did not try it as it did not look really inviting. Just a sign painted over an old door.

However, once you open the door, it is very inviting. The ambiance is simple and there are only three tables. The people are SUPER friendly and excellent cooks.

There is no menu, Gloria or one of the others just tells you what is available. Also, if they don't have the beer you want, or are missing an ingredient you want, they go and get it.

The place is very clean, the food very fresh, and often part of the family is there. We eat there quite often now and really enjoy it. Oh, for fish tacos they chop up great fresh salsa, and the other salsa is real---not gringoized.

Sometimes they close for things like going to church or lack of help, but don't miss eating there.

We'll be there in three weeks and will definately have to try it out.

Other than the fish tacos what else have you had?

Typical breakfast food, fish fillets in garlic, machaca, toco dorados with beef, chicken soup, sometimes she makes tamales, carne asada, --- can't think of what else.

Squarecircle, Baja Angel and I joined Sheri and Juan there for dinner last Tuesday night... They had one serving of fish available (Squarecircle ate) and the rest of us had carne asada dinners... All were great, served with Tecate beer!
