Floods

Oso - 7-31-2007 at 05:54 PM

Mulege, New Orleans, Sri lanka and now Ireland! Such tragedy and destruction. Sometimes it seems the "flood" of such bad news tends to numb our sensitivity and cause us to ignore the hardships of those not within our immediate vicinity.

Please join me in offering a prayer for the valiant people of Ireland as they heroically struggle to cope with the monstrous inundations that threaten their very way of life...

Oso,
Where did you get the information ? I read several newspapers from Europe daily, The Times and the Mirror amongst them. Lots about the floods in England, but no mention of Ireland.

The horror

Thanks Dave, that's the pic. What did you do that I didn't?

BTW, Robert Briscoe would be proud!

Here's to a long life and a merry one,
A quick death and an easy one,
A pretty girl and an honest one,
a cold beer and another one.

One of these days I gotta tell Kinky he hasn't really tasted the good Irish whiskey if he hasn't tried Power's.

BTW, since being reminded of the Kinkster, I've discovered his literary work and have read 8 of his mystery novels. In honor of his cultural traditions, I have paid nothing for these but, alas, have exhausted the Yuma County Library's supply and been forced to actually purchase a couple of paperbacks from a used book store. They make excellent summer beach reading. The chapters are short and one can always stop at "The cat, of course, said nothing."

You can get that here????

Most think Irish whiskey begins and ends with Bushmills. Lots of great labels, and Power's is top shelf. I drink Jameson's cause I can get it.

I triple distill it. ;D

805Gregg:

I am WAY upstream from you, but I'll help all I can by "flushing twice" for the next few weeks.

Actually the level in Shasta Lake is dropping like someone left the plug out.

Powers is Irish whiskey! The other stuff will give you a hell of a hang over with those little prodestant devils in them.
