longlegsinlapaz - 8-18-2007 at 11:04 AM

:o:o:oWhere are you??? There is virtually no wind in Centenario! Too light to even call it a breeze so far this morning!

backninedan - 8-18-2007 at 11:37 AM

This is mr. mismisty, and we are in Loreto. So far just a bit of wind, but the cell coming up looks like it might hate bit more in it. We shall see.

Cypress - 8-18-2007 at 12:16 PM

Just one of those small, intense "thunder-bumpers" that brew up during the heat of the summer.:D

bajajudy - 8-18-2007 at 12:23 PM

Legs
Same here. Lotsa cloud(read humidity) and very little rain.
A nice steady shower would have been nice. Sure looked like we would get one but nooooooooooooo.
No wind

Cypress

No thunder, no wind just sprinkles.

Eli - 8-18-2007 at 12:51 PM

Here in Chiapas it rained like the mother unleashing all her tears yesterday. I always wonder when it pours like that here what is going to happen up at home in Los Barriles within the next week or so.

vandenberg - 8-18-2007 at 01:13 PM

Spend my last 3 hours on my rain dance. No succes thusfar. Time for a Pacifico break and than back at it.:P:o. Always had succes before, so will stick with it.:lol:

edinnopolo - 8-18-2007 at 01:16 PM

Cypress - 8-18-2007 at 01:41 PM

Anything that settles the dust is fine with me.:bounce::bounce:

backninedan - 8-18-2007 at 02:35 PM

Ed, I don,t think the Charleston works anymore, gotta upgrade your dance a bit.

bajajudy - 8-18-2007 at 03:10 PM

DONT DO IT
The last rain dance I did caused a flood and we were stuck on the wrong side of the San Jose River for almost a week.
:(

longlegsinlapaz - 8-18-2007 at 03:15 PM

4:10 PM La Paz/Centenario area....Sun is out, overcast burning off, blue skies elbowing out the clouds!!

Ed and Ed, I think you SHOULD get together for a Pacifico. You'll enjoy each other's company!:dudette:

bacquito - 8-18-2007 at 06:11 PM

Wind started about 11 today.Gusts up to 42mph. Still blowing around 20 to 25, cloudy and no rain. I think we'll have a great lightning show tonight.

vandenberg - 8-19-2007 at 05:49 AM

Rain!!!

Well it worked. Following Dan's advice,we, Nopolo Ed and I, after a few Pacificos, decide to go update and went from the Charleston to " The Funkie Chicken ".This ritual dance performed simultaneously with pounding the TomTom is almost crippling at our age,so, after 2 hours with NO rain,we decided for another break. However our efforts were rewarded with a little downpour last night. So, we must have stirred something.
Now Nopolo Ed and I have decided to upgrade our next effort some more. The next promising overcast day we are going to try " LINE DANCING ", more in line with the modern times. And Ed, brainy devil that he is, suggested to maybe make it into a concerted Tribal event ?? Butterfield? Grogan ? Loreto Bay people ? And the beach club's virgin grounds the venue ? Lots of room for a large gathering.:P:P

And ,yes Judy, very aware of being careful what you wish for.
Don't want to have to build an Ark.

But then again, who needs a desal plant  Let's dance!!!:P:P:lol::lol:

edinnopolo - 8-19-2007 at 05:56 AM

Beat me to this post.
Thanks for the acknowledgment.
Little stiff this morning, but, heh, it worked.
Can't wait till the next event, need the exercise.:biggrin:

Rain in Todos Santos

amir - 8-19-2007 at 06:50 AM

Early this morning at around 5:30, a burst of forceful wind followed by about an hour of heavy rain. Not enough to cause any flooding but just enough to wash all the dust off everything outside and start a whole new cycle of the desert becoming green...

Here is a screen shot of this mornings Sat. Just wanted to see how easy it would be. Very

edinnopolo - 8-19-2007 at 09:04 AM

'" Funkie Chicken " worked really well after all. Must have been our slower then usual way of dancing. ( Age )
So it took longer to reach the rain gods.:P:P
Now we're worried what our Line Dancing would accomplish:?::?:
Maybe we better heed Judy's warning after all.:O:O

bajajudy - 8-19-2007 at 11:23 AM

Almost nobody dances sober, unless they happen to be insane.

H. P. Lovecraft (1890 - 1937)

Cypress - 8-19-2007 at 11:30 AM

bajajudy. That was/is a wise observation by Lovecraft.:D Thanks for sharing it with us.:D

backninedan - 8-19-2007 at 01:43 PM

I was just in town (Loreto) and many of the streets are flooded, especially the ones being prepared for paving. Wonder if they forgot the drains????

bajajudy - 8-20-2007 at 02:29 PM

Ok guys
NO more dancing, por favor:wow::o:O:wow::o:O

It will be interesting to see if there is any precipitation left in Mr. Dean when he gets across to this side. Most of the models have his remnants traveling right up the S.O.C.

That's a big storm. I wish those in the Yucatan all the best.
