heading out the next day for a 6 day fishing trip; all the hotels want a 3 night minimum because of the holiday weekend. For the life of me, can't figure why ANYONE would go to San Felipe at this time of year except for why WE are going --- on the fishing trip!!! If you have ideas - and we've contacted all the hotels - or if you live there and have some space (we can provide our own air mattress, linens, etc) BUT A/C is REQUIRED - count us in and we'll take care of dinner plus for you!

I think you mght be surprised at just how many people, especially Mexicans come to San Felipe in the summer! Last week end there were many many people on the beaches & Malecon.
I know people that have house rentals but they too like to rent for more than 1 nite. It's the up-keep thing. If they rent for one nite the house-cleaner gets a big gite out of the income. So it just don't pay in the long run, so they won't bother with one nite renters. Think especially at that date you will have VERY hard time finding a one niter.

Try George's Hotel in San Felipe. You can get the tele. number off the www. anfelipe.com.mx website.

Meme is correct -- we have a one bedroom apartment on the beach, south of San Felipe and unless it's an absolute emergency can't afford to rent it for one night - in fact our minimum is 3. San Felipe has been filled all summer with and without A/C -- we don't have A/C, but had a family of 6 with us for a week -- they just sat in the ocean during day, went to town, and slept on the sleeping deck at night AND they've reserved for next year, same time -- Labor Day weekend is start of the "gringo" season in addition to the great numbers of Mexican families who come down on the weekends all year round.
