OTAY MESA: A 28-year-old Mexican man registered to participate in the SENTRI fast-pass program has been arrested on suspicion of drug smuggling after
authorities said officers at the port of entry found 152 pounds of cocaine hidden in a car, authorities said yesterday.
The driver, a Tijuana resident, was arrested about 9 a.m. last Wednesday after he drove into the United States and was waved to a secondary inspection
area.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers noted differences in the Nissan's trunk and rear seat, spokesman Vince Bond said. Fifty-six wrapped
packages of cocaine were found in the bumpers.
