New Bank in Vizcaino

Hola Nomads-

Forgot to mention in my trip report that there is a new Banorte bank across from the Pemex in Vizcaino on Hwy 1. It has an atm machine as well.

This is a major convenience for many.

Yahoo !
Great news for Viscaino and Asuncion !
There has been a little known ATM on the south side of the road at the east end of Viscaino but this will be much better and easier to find.
Now we just need the road paved to Asuncion and a nice boat launch/dock in town and we're all set !!
Oh yeh, I better build a house, too !

Yes, but it is a Bancomer if that makes any difference to anyone. Yesterday we were at the Pemex, I looked up and gasped---there was no sign of it when we left here a few weeks ago, and like out of nowhere, it appeared.

We checked it out just to make sure it was open---thought it might be a mirage. Oh, the future Banamex is still closed. They have looked like they were going to open for a long time, but Bancomer beat them to the punch.

Makes us happy---before had to go all the way to GN for an ATM:tumble::tumble:

Diver,

Don't know why, probably money, but all work on the pavement has stopped---no workers, no trucks, no camp---nada. While understanding their impatience, it is too bad some people have moved the barriers and some cars and trucks are driving on the new pavement. It is tearing it up where it is really thin---first coat only---and may ruin it before it is completed.

We saw a number of people not on the pavement, but still using the dirt, and right now it is in quite good shape---only two soft rough places.

We hope they return and finish what they started---at least the first part and then officially open it --before it is destroyed.
