:o:o That's one fine piece of paradise.:bounce::spingrin:

tripledigitken - 9-19-2007 at 08:15 AM

Nice!

Is it heated?:lol::lol::lol:

HotSchott - 9-19-2007 at 08:24 AM

That is beautiful. I suggest you espalier Bougainvillea in large planters on the casitas. Layered color plantings with large specimen Brahea in the tree cutouts with uplights at night. Did you sleeve for irrigation and lighting?

:wow:

Baja&Back - 9-19-2007 at 09:06 AM

Wow! Your place is looking SO good. Something to be proud of!
Will definitely have to visit you in late November on way south. Met Susan last year, but not Bob. (Promise not to confuse you with the other Bob & Susan)

capt. mike - 9-19-2007 at 09:12 AM

Bougainvillea!!!! close by????
don't do it Bob. you'll be cleaning leaves and flowers out of that pool for enternity.

go with as much stuff as you can get that doesn't shed.
there are plenty of specimens.

so i'll see you on sat, maybe fri depends on what time we drop off at guaymas.

Sweet!

Dave - 9-19-2007 at 09:40 AM

A swimming pool in the middle of a desert .

Make sure your guests don't pee in the pool.

Eventually, you'll have to drink from it.

Bajalover - 9-19-2007 at 10:07 AM

VERY IMPRESSIVE !!! Makes me want to pack the old trailer now and head south. Really looks great. Will have to stop in for a dip....some maggies, chips/salsa, and a large hammock to recuperate in.

bougainvillea

lewm - 9-19-2007 at 10:21 AM

I agree with Capt. Mike. Don't plant them. I have a major problem with bougainvillea's & they are not even in my yard. Everytime the wind blows I get a patio full & if they get wet they leave stains which you have to scruff off. They are pretty though.

Bob H - 9-19-2007 at 08:00 PM

Wow, looks fantastic. Lots of progress lately. We hope to see you guys in October while we are bouncing around Baja Sur!

Went out to meet Bob & Susan yesterday. They weren't there but there was an army of workers. I think they have a great idea here. In the future when there are too many houses too close to each other they'll have a nice quiet place for people to relax and enjoy their stay. Here are a few of the photos I took. the pool also has it's own "Little Yellow Rubber Duck"

Bob and Susan - 9-20-2007 at 05:49 AM

figures russ...

we went to santa rosalia yesterday to meet with the corona people so we can sell their beer legally:light:

capt. mike - 9-20-2007 at 06:08 AM

Bob - corona is ok as long it is ice cold and i can get some tequila and clamato with it to make micheladas!!
but can you get it on tap in kegs?? that would be so cool for football season.

will you have games on this sun?

Russ - 9-20-2007 at 06:10 AM

Corona? Ohhhh, you were doing so well. ----Palapa

DENNIS - 9-20-2007 at 06:34 AM

Think Pacifico and XX. Don't sign anything. Get professional advice.

Is that a salt or fresh water pool?

HotSchott - 9-20-2007 at 06:48 AM

Oh ya that's right! Nothing with leaves that would get in the pool. I guess its perfect. I guess i'll go to work now.

Lauriboats - 9-20-2007 at 06:55 AM

Looks refreshing

you must either not own a pool or

have a weekly service on yours. Which is expensive to pay for.

i fought euc leaves for 10 years on my 1st pool and it cost me one premature re-plaster job. That's about 3 to 6 grand depending on size.

my second pool is surrounded by the proper plants, all beautifully planned to NOT ruin my pool's finish or create a maintenance nightmare to keep up with cleaning daily.
And i do not employ a weekly service like some of my carefree neighbors can afford to do.

bogies are some of the worst offenders - too bad they look so nice, but really not for pool areas.

vandenberg - 9-20-2007 at 07:36 AM

I'm with Mike. Try to keep any " shedding " type of plant or tree as far away from the pool as possible. Bougies are very bad. In Sacramento we had a Japanese cherry tree which blossoms were a constant fight. Bloomed pretty much all summer. It belonged to who couldn't be persuaded to replace it with another type of tree at our expense. Needless to say, we werent into the " good " neighbor pool.:P:P:biggrin:

Bob and Susan - 9-20-2007 at 07:52 AM

here in mulege "corona" is the distributer for "pacifico" and "modelo"

he also said i could get "bud"

the other company is "tecate"

it's either "blue" or "red"

Russ - 9-20-2007 at 08:10 AM

I know I'm in the minority here but I like Red. Noche Buena(I think), Sol, XX, Red & Red lite.
Probably most have a preference for Blue though. And with the deposits you margin will be better. BUT, BUD? NOT!

Phil S - 9-20-2007 at 09:03 AM

Bob & Susan. (also names of my brother in law & sister in law) Looks great. Glad that the beer isn't going to just be Corona. I also vote for Mikes suggestion on the Boug's. We had three of the plants in Nopolo & what a mess. But what a visual delight!!!!!!
Do you have signs up on the highway yet. Danged if we've been able to located that "road" that leads to your place. Looked again last July when we were down there. Maybe it's "can't see the trees for the forest" theory working here.

Mango - 9-20-2007 at 09:40 AM

Your place looks great. I love the lighthouse and to pool looks very inviting.

I agree with Dennis and and recommend Pacifco beer. I have a Mexican friend that was starting a restaurant on the mainland coast. I told him to get Pacifico instead of Corona... He sold out in 2 days. People were coming from all over town to his place to have a beer since you all you could get was Corona or Sol everywhere else.

He thought I was a genius; but, it was really just all my years of "research" that led me to discover the perfect beer.

Bob and Susan - 9-20-2007 at 07:26 PM

phil... look for the BIG lighthouse
we're about a mile north of santispac
the light will be on in november

we do have a heater for the pool too...
propane powered...BIG DOG:o

the pool water today was 90 degrees
90 degrees is just nice...no heater needed right now

when we got the water delivered the water was 95 degrees HOT!!!
the water you get from the pump in town sure comes out HOT!!!

susan just got out of the pool and was COLD!!!:saint:
first time this summer she complained about being COLD!!!

you know...it was sure nice sitting around the pool this evening
its much better than garage living:yes::yes:

air temp today was 92 degrees
night time last night was 83 degrees

howat - 9-21-2007 at 12:36 PM

In the past I've camped many times at Santispac and the former Ecomundo, so know your area. Camping in the dirt is becoming less appealing to me as I age gracefully. I usually pull my Cabo 216 down to fish the plentiful fishing spots outside the Bay. Do you allow boats? Have a launch area? Can you moor there or are the winds too severe at times?

Congratulations on your new establishment in one of the most beautiful spots on this planet.

Dennis

Cypress - 9-21-2007 at 12:50 PM

Bob and Susan. From where I come from 90 degrees is getting a little on the warm side. Bob, beware! Susan might put a lump or two on your noggin.

Bob and Susan - 9-21-2007 at 01:28 PM

we have lots of parking for the boat
water to clean the motor out too

if you want to moor and its calm theres a spot i leave my boat

if you want to moor and its windy my neighbor has a safe harbor
i mean really safe

we have a couple of launch locations here
depending on the tides

we will assist with pulling her out if you get in trouble
"no boats left behind"

bring the wife and kids
they can stay onshore while you fish

we'll keep them busy:lol::lol:
but...no babysitting:lol::lol:

Bob and Susan - 9-21-2007 at 01:34 PM

"From where I come from 90 degrees is getting a little on the warm side."
that's what a pools for:lol:

idaho is toooooo cold

we're from southern california...
90 is normal for the summer

below 60 and i'm freezing:lol:

last night it hit 80 degrees and we used a sheet:lol:

Cypress - 9-21-2007 at 02:02 PM

Bob and Susan. :D Agree! :D Idaho is nice in the summer, but summer is over.:(

Pescador - 9-22-2007 at 04:49 PM

We had a birthday party last year in San Lucas Cove and brought two kegs of Corona and it was absolutely wonderful. Even the die hard Tecate drinkers from the village imbibed very well. There is something wonderful about keg beer. Tecate does not, at this time, have kegs.

Bob and Susan - 9-22-2007 at 07:01 PM

the "blue" truck came by yesterday...

i got 96 bottles of pacifico...

i've got a couple of weeks to get rid of them...
can't sell yet:lol:

stop by, visit, and get a free beer:lol:

Russ - 9-23-2007 at 06:53 AM

96 bottles? That may last to Monday. Free beer always attracts a crowd. Let us know how the party went and how long the suds lasted.

Bob and Susan - 9-23-2007 at 06:55 AM

capt mike is comming with marv on marv's boat at 10 am

96 bottles may last till 12?????

do you think they'll know where to stop????

Bob and Susan...

Mexray - 9-23-2007 at 11:22 PM

...do you allow pets...We'd like to bring our small flock of Canadian Honkers with us for a visit - they'll really like that nice, new fresh water 'lake' to splash and cavort in!

You do have a big filter and lots of Chlorine, don't you? If we stay for a couple of weeks, you'd have enough feathers floating around to make a nice pillow!
