MX Of Nations First 9/22/2007
After 60 editions of the FIM Motocross of Nations, the first female competitor is now ready to step into the event.
Thanks to Puerto Rican Tarah Gieger's participation, the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations will make history, as it will host the first female rider
competing in the event.
Tarah Gieger will race in the MX2 class for Team Puerto Rico, which is at its first appearance in the Nations, on a Yamaha YZ250F. Gieger, who was
born September 18, 1985, in Aguadilla, but currently lives in Florida, won the Loretta Lynn's Amateur three times, and finished twice in the top three
at the WMA series.
When asked about this weekend's race, an excited Tarah Gieger, said, "I’m quite confident at the moment, I think I have the speed to run with some of
the guys out there; I’m honored both for being the first girl to race at the Nations, and for representing Puerto Rico at this very important event.
When I received the call, I was positive straight away. This is everybody's dream, and it is coming true for me!"
