Boating in Los Barriles

bearbait1 - 9-23-2007 at 09:36 PM

I am planning on pulling a boat to Los Barriles after my retirement this winter and leaving it there in storage. Does anyone have any suggestions for a safe outdor storage facility? Will the boat or trailer need to be registered in Mexico? Can I just keep the trailer registered in the US? Thanks

I have my boat stored in La Paz and was told I need an FM-3 so I can leave it in country and a Temporary Import Permit as well. Of course you will also need the standard annual boat permit and fishing licenses for Everybody on board if you even have a hook on the boat.

Alan- Go find Aleandro Verdugo....He is Martins brother, and he owns a very nice storage facility on top of the hill right above town. Very safe and clean and secure. He is a honest and fine man and runs a tight ship. Good luck. ++C++

You can just keep them registered in the US. You do need to get a 10 year Temporary Import Permit. You can get it at the border (Banjercito offices). You need to have the boat with you and all your original paperwork for the boat.
