Denaca
I live in La Paz, and don't know of any such town.
Pueblo Rodriguez
Denaca - 9-24-2007 at 08:15 AM
Rodriguez isn't on every map. Maybe that's good. Maybe it's simply no more.
Thanks

Maybe a town were a guy named Rodriguez is important somehow?
A long time ago, when La Paz was very small and the main store was La Perla de La Paz, Ruffo, the owner was on vacation in Mexico City and he was
introduced to somebody and that person said "Oh, Ruffo? You're from La Paz" and he responded "No, La Paz is mine"

From La Paz heading north on 1, just after El Centenario there's turn off of Hwy 1 to the right and north, back toward the coast. One of the towns
along the coast north of La Paz is Datilito. Just up from Datilito a couple of miles and a short distance inland was a something called Rodriguez.

Rancho Rodriguez?
Denaca - 9-25-2007 at 06:14 AM
I brought it up to see if anyone was familiar with the place and perhaps learn just what the place is as I've only seen it on the map. Hey, I'm a
Rodriguez.
Thanks

If you need something closer, we have a dam in Tijuana or a town adjacent to Ensenada that have your name on them.
Denaca - 9-25-2007 at 06:57 AM
Thanks.
Any idea what the yellow configuration is in the map?
comitan - 9-25-2007 at 07:02 AM
The yellow configuration is the town of Bonfil, now thats a quaint little town to make your home in right now 5 years from now not so.
Denaca - 9-25-2007 at 07:21 AM

'Rodriguez' per Lower California Guidebook

18.8 miles from La Paz (9.5 miles north from Hwy. 1 at Los Aripes) was the cattle ranch (not town) of Rodriguez...
Here is the page from the 4th Edition of Gerhard & Gulick's Lower California Guidebook c1970 (the road details came from research done for the
1962 edition)...
Denaca - 9-26-2007 at 06:27 AM
Thanks very much David
David K - 9-26-2007 at 07:29 AM
De nada... The Lower California Guidebook by Gerhard & Gulick is a fantastic resource for Baja history as it was 40 or more years ago. The maps
from the guidebook can be seen on my web site, link titled: 1962 Baja road maps by Howard Gulick (thanks to Doug Eernisse). Rodriguez is on the 1962
map... It is in the First Edition (1956) map, as well.

There are ranches in that area one of them could be Rancho Rodriquez.
