I am looking at possibly purchasing an 18' bayrunner with a 55hp Suzuki. For those of you with experience with these boats, do you think that is a
big enough motor?

I recently sold my 18' Bayrunner with a Yamaha 50.
Not having enough power was never an issue.
Good luck with your purchase!

We had an 18 foot Bayrunner aluminum boat at Gonzaga Bay for years with a 65 HP Evenrude on it. That was close to too much engine for the boat....if
you hit a swell wrong the thing was in danger of doing a loop or a roll.

I have a Klamath 16.5', center console, 50hp 4 stroke that I've used a lot in Baja. I bought it years ago fro Pescador a long time Baja fisherman. He
bought it from someone in Los Barriles. It is a great boat for Baja. The one you are looking at is big enough to reach offshore (use common sense),
light enough to get long range mileage and light enough for launch over the beach.
Have a great time!

My 16 foot Bayrunner has a 40 caballos Johnson. Plenty of power. Thinking of getting a kicker. Any idea what size would be light enough yet get me
out of a stalled motor situation?

its hard to find parts in baja, at least in Lorato, for Suzuki boat moters

Thanks Jerry, if I do end up taking this boat down I will bring spares for everything that I can.
