I am looking for a thread...books and barrels or barrels and books. I have tried every variation including using "&" instead of "and".....I get
nothing, nada and yet I know that there was a thread with that title. Is the search feature really that lame? I have heard others complain but this
is my first experience with trying to find something that I know should be there but isnt.
Any thoughts?

Judy, I use search all the time on Nomad and usually have good luck finding posts... It will help if you know the author of the post and what forum,
to narrow down the possiblilities.
Also, if you just put down the one word you are sure is in the title, like Barrels then how the rest goes doesn't matter... The search will look for
'Barrels' by that person.

Yea once I put my name in I found it.
But sometimes you dont know the name of the poster. It seems that the key word....for example.....barrels would bring something up...how many posts
can there be with barrels in the subject line?

Judy,
I remember "Books and Barrels" mentioned. It seems that it was in the last week and a half, or so. Maybe that was not the subject title of the string
or post. Hopefully the person who posted it will see this string.

Judy - I don't get good results using the forum search engine at the top of the page. Instead, I use the google search engine at the bottom of the
page. I just googled 'barrels' and it came up with your post as the second entry.

It is interesting that if you search for "barrels" (with nothing else changed) the post you are looking for comes right up, but if you search for
"Books & Barrels" (the actual post title), you get nothing.
When I had a similar problem, I was told that the Nomad search engine treats all search words as a string, and there are no boolean operators like
AND, OR.
However, if you use the Google search (at the bottom of the page on your search results) with BajaNomad.com checked, and type in Books & Barrels,
then your post does come up. The two search engines are, apparently, separate and can be used to compliment each other.

I found it.
Will try the google engine next time.
Thanks for all your ideas...

Thanks Larry. I thought the ampersand must have something to do with it, I just didn't know why. It makes sense now.
