Jesuits established a chain that eventually numbered 30 missions in parts of Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil in the 17th and 18ty centuries.
Archaeologists recently (January-February) excavated parts of the building complex at San Lorenzo Martir, in what today is Brazil. The site has been
studied off and on for several decades. I am attaching several photos of the ruins, and then one of what has most recently been excavated.
