When the road was first built it was a case of survival. It was narrow and full of potholes. Now its no big deal....except at night. Oh, and the
shootings and carjackings taking place in Baja Norte.fdt - 10-6-2007 at 09:13 AM

The road is still narrow south of San Quintin... as it was in 1973...

Maybe you were one of the first ones down the new road. Yes, there were plenty of potholes during the first year---everytime it rained.fdt - 10-6-2007 at 01:06 PM
Does this mean you do not want a sticker?Lindalou - 10-7-2007 at 12:17 PM
fdt, I want one of your stickers no matter how the road was then or now. You can send mine to Dennis also as we are neighbors!

I drove the road the year it was paved. It might have been great during the early part of the year, but I arrived shortly after the first rains, which
filled the vadoes and washed out the road. We had to ford a number of streams on our trip down to Conception Bay. The potholes were so deep that you
could faintly hear Chinese if you put your head in one. We ended up taking the Santa Rosalea Ferry back to the mainland to avoid retracing our wheel
tracks. It took us three days to make the cut to get on the ferry. A guy with Green Glasses, we called him Green Glasses, did all of the negotiation
and we were certain that we would be out of the paddock in two days, but we lost to a blond with a bottle of Chivas......lesson learned!
We did manage to spot a couple of pangaderos with a grouper tail dragging on the ground hanging from an oar suspended between them. Needless to say we
hired them to take us fishing and we felt much better about being aced out by the blondie.

I purchased 2 when first offered, they go on the out-side of your glass, so in the last 6mos they have washed off, Do the new ones go on the inside of
the glass, Old style will not last long in Winterfdt - 10-8-2007 at 08:45 AM

I want one. Can I get it before 10/18? I'll be making my first transpeninsular drive next week and I promise I won't put it on till I get to La Paz.
