I recently uncovered a stack of pamphlets acquired during my bull fighting days of the early 1960s and need some information on them.
The title is "Los California Baja y Alta, Baja California Mexico." They were published by Grace Loften, printed at 9409 Venice Blvd Culver City,
California, telephone VErmont 7-9933.
Subscription rate $2.00 for 12 issues = 2 years. Year book 184 pages, 8-1/2 X11 350 pictures $2.00 per copy
They are 5X8 inches, card stock picture covers with heavy duty numbered paper pages. They generally consist of around 40 pages, and are richly
endowed with pictures and advertisements--a real treasure trove of Baja history of the very early 1960s.
Any information on them will be greatly appreciated...

Hi Dean,
I have the first yearbook for the magazine, published by Grace Loftin c1963.
In the introduction, it says the magzine is two years old and this is the first yearbook... containing articles from previous issues plus new
material.
It is 8 1/2" X 11" and 180 pages... full of articles, photos and some ads... Really great stuff!
By the way, I think I have one of the small magazines you described, as well...

David K,
I suspected that you would be the only source of information on these items...so many with opinions and so few with the facts...
Thanks for your, as usual, prompt correct response.
Appreciate it,
SDM

El gusto es mio, amigo!
By the way, Baja Nomad member 'Rockman' has the largest collection of Baja publications and offers many titles for trade or sale... It wouldn't
surprise me if he has all of the issues!

Have been doing business with him for many many years.
Yes he does have a collection!--the ones he has for sale would fill a house....A man and a collection to be admired.

A funny story about Norm... I bought 'Hunting the Desert Whale' (E.S. Gardner) from him a few years ago, and he included his 'want list' (Baja
publications he wants to add to his collection) in the package... On it was my Baja road guide from 1974...
Well it was a great trade, because I recieved a copy of the unpublished Howard Gulick El Camino Real notes and maps for a copy of my '74 guide...
Those maps and details from his notes can be viewed on my web site at http://vivabaja.com/ECR
Here is the cover of what Norm wanted and got from me:
