We are planning a buying trip to Guadalajara area. Does anyone know if they accept Credit cards. Would it be better to take cash?.

Dont know about credit cards but I once went to the glass blowing factory where they make those gorgeous blue rimmed glass stuff and I bought some

I 2nd. JZ; take cash (and an atm card as a back up). Also, the EnArt show and the furniture show at the Expo. is a great way to go. There is a free
van that runs between the 2 shows. You should be able to find more info. by googleing EnArt. Love those buying trips to Guadalajara, great FUN!

I always hear of furniture buying trips to Guadalajara.
How does one transport all this nice stuff back to the outer reaches of Mexico especially Baja?

There are several shipping companies that can handle this for you. Most the furniture and artisan dealers will arrange to do the shipping with who
they feel comfortable and one often pays c.o.d. on delivery. If you go about it like that, you need to keep in close contact with your furniture
dealer, and from them, make sure and get the shipping companie's name, phone # in baja, a shipping number, (numero de guia) and the date it left
Guadalajara.
So far for me, the best results for the least cost have been to ship with Castores from Mexico City to La Paz, I am not sure if they ship out of
Guadalajara though. Google Transportes Castores and see.
I have had o.k. luck with Califia, and they ship from Guadalajara to small towns and cities thru out Baja. There is another small shipper between
Guadalajara and Baja, but it has been a few years since I have used them, Transportes Cabo San Lucas, (maybe?), algo, asi. I used Redpack out of
Chiapas this year, they did pretty good for an o.k. cost. I hope to use them out of Oaxaca for my next shippment.
My very least favorite is DHL, with Estufeta coming in a close 2nd on bad service for too much money. Mulitpack in not great, but I would use them

There are furniture consolidators. You only work with them, they work with all the vendors you buy from (could be dozens). Many of the vendors may
not speak English, the consolidator will. They will store it all until everything is ready (could be weeks if you have things build custom) and
arrange shipping for you. Look for Maņana Transport. They are great.
